Golden Bears close out the third round of the Gopher Individual

Four Golden Bears improve their scores from round two

MAPLE PLAIN, Minn. – The Golden Bears closed out the third round of the Gopher Individual today with four Golden Bears improving their scores from the second round.
 
The Golden Bears teed off Sunday morning at 7:10 a.m. Trent Anderson posted the best score of the day for the Golden Bears. Anderson started the day off strong birdieing on the first hole. He bogeyed on three returning to par. He remained even until he bogeyed seven and double bogeyed eight. He closed out the front nine by birdieing on nine. The back nine Anderson shot even par getting three bogeys and three birdies. He finished the round with a 74 (+2), putting him at 17 over par for the tournament (233) finishing 26th place.
 
Red-shirt freshman, Brian Peterson had the second best score for the Golden Bears Sunday finishing at +7. Peterson had an impressive front nine remaining even par. Then on the turn at 10 and 11 he posted a pair of triple bogeys. After hole 11 she shot +1 on the rest of the back nine putting him seven over for the round. Peterson finished the tournament tied for 31st shooting +22 for the weekend.
 
Senior, Chance Maiers improved his score from the second round by shooting one stroke better today posting an 81, nine over par. Maiers birdied two of his last six holes today finishing in 32nd place shooting 24 over par for the weekend. Sophomore Tyler Dunn also improved his score from the second round shooting three shots better also posting an 81 today in the final round. Dunn finish tied for 34th shooting +29 for the tournament.
 
Freshman Noah Rasinski finished his second round at +4 for the tournament, and he did not compete in the final round on Sunday.
 
The men come back home and take next weekend off preparing to travel to Monkey Island, Okla. Sept. 26-27 for the Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) Fall Invite at Shangri-La country club.
