2014: Played in nine games including six starts to close out the season for the Golden Bear offensive line ... member of starting offensive line that earned Concordia Offensive Linemen of the Week honors in the win at SMSU (11/1) and member of the starting blocking unit (OL & TE) that earned Concordia Offensive Linemen of the Week in the win over Augustana (11/8) ... part of offensive line that allowed just 1.27 sacks per game to rank 30th in Division II football ... part of offensive line that allowed just 5.18 tackles for loss per game to rank 25th in Division II ... Concordia's offense ranked 12th in Division II football in time of possession (33:33) ... helped protect the team's three starting quarterbacks who combined to throw just nine interceptions.

2013: Redshirted, did not play … named CU Offensive Scout Player of the Week for the Upper Iowa game (10/12/13).

Prior to Concordia:
Attended Murray State University for three semesters as part of the Racers football team in 2010 and 2011 and did not compete in any games ... attended Southern Illinois University for two semesters.

Lutheran High School North:
An All-America Lutheran selection ... also named All-Metro and All-Conference.

Personal:
Born November 19, 1991 ... son of John and Sharon Schmidtke ... has two older brothers, Daniel and Michael, and an older sister, Tequila ... will major in elementary education with a minor in Lutheranism ... his brother, Mike, played offensive line for North Carolina State football ... his brother, Dan, played defensive line for Valparaiso University.
