BURNSVILLE, Minn. — The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released the 2026-27 Women's Golf Preseason Coaches' Poll Tuesday afternoon. Concordia-St. Paul was picked to finish third in the preseason poll, receiving 143 points. 

CSP ended the 2025-26 season with a third place finish at the NSIC Championships and a NCAA Central Regional appearance for the first time since 2016. The Golden Bears shot a collective 934 (+70) to cap off the lowest three-round score at the NSIC Tournament in program history finishing eight strokes behind conference champion Wayne State. 

It was the Golden Bears best finish at the NSIC Championships since 2021 when they managed a fourth place finish. This season CSP is looking to build on last season's success with a mix of three returners and four incoming freshmen. 

"We're excited to add four talented freshmen to our roster this year to mix in with our returning experienced players," Head Coach Peter Maki said. "There is surely going to be some growth and competition as we work our steps and rise to our goals." 

Among the Golden Bears returners this season is sophomore Addi Wood who is coming off a freshmen campaign that saw her take home NSIC Newcomer and Player of the Year honors along with a All-NSIC First Team selection. 

Wood capped off her first season in the Navy and Gold with a second place finish at the NSIC Championships. The freshman put together a three-round score of 224 (+8) to end regulation play in a tie for first before falling in a four hole playoff. 

After leading the NSIC in scoring average as a freshman, Wood heads into the 2026-27 season as the NSIC Preseason Golfer of the Year. 

"Addi continues to amaze us with her abilities and work ethic," Maki said. "She has truly set the standard on what it takes and means to 'be golden'; her desire to grow and work the process is what makes her truly special." 

Defending NSIC Champion Wayne State topped the preseason poll, receiving 178 points and 11 first-place votes. Minnesota State came in second in the poll with 157 points and three first-place votes. 

The 2027 NSIC Women's Golf Championship is set for April 16-18, at the Adams Pointe Golf Complex in Blue Springs, Missouri. 

The Golden Bears get the 2026-27 season underway Monday, September 14 when they host the CSP/MSU Fall Brawl at the Troy Burne Golf Course in Hudson, Wisconsin.
