Box Score CROOKSTON, Minn. -The Concordia-St. Paul soccer team (4-1-5, 3-1-3) continued its road trip through western Minnesota with a 2-0 victory over Minnesota Crookston (0-7-3, 0-6-1) on Friday afternoon at Minnesota Crookston Soccer Field.
Following the game, head coach
Steve Bellis stated, "We saw another strong game from CSP on a tough surface against a stubborn opponent. The early goal settled us down, and from there we kept possession very well while producing multiple chances to add to the scoreline. Defensively, we controlled the game and deserved the shutout victory."
The win marked the Golden Bears' 10th straight victory over the Golden Eagles in the all-time series.
Sophia Haase highlighted the day for the Navy and Gold with two goals. The goals moved Haase into the NSIC lead with nine goals on the season. The performance also marked her third multi-goal game of the season.
CSP controlled the game throughout, holding advantages in shots (15-1), shots on goal (9-0) and corner kicks (5-0).
In the first half, the Golden Bears kept the pressure on, spending most of the half in the offensive end and creating several scoring opportunities.
Sophia Haase opened the scoring in the ninth minute after
Lexi Pettit beat a defender and sent a cross into Haase, who headed it into the net.
The Golden Bears held an 11-0 advantage in shots in the first half, including a 7-0 edge in shots on goal and a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks. CSP also held UMC without a shot in the first half, marking a season-best defensive effort.
CSP carried its momentum into the second half, looking to add to its 1-0 lead. The Golden Bears continued to create scoring chances, with Haase finding the back of the net again after
Hannah Carroll crossed the ball into the box for Haase to finish.
The CSP defense held strong against the Golden Eagles, limiting UMC to just one shot in the second half. The Golden Bears locked down defensively to secure the 2-0 victory over the Golden Eagles.
The Golden Bears held UMC to one shot and zero shots on goal, marking the fewest shots allowed since MSU Moorhead had just one shot on Oct. 10, 2025. It was also CSP's fewest shots on goal allowed since outshooting Minnesota Crookston 19-0 on Nov. 6, 2023.
CSP improves to 21-6-2 all-time against the Golden Eagles, winning the last ten meetings.
Lexi Pettit recorded the assist on Haase's first goal, marking her fourth of the season. The assist puts Pettit tied for first place in the NSIC and first on the team in assists.
Hannah Carroll recorded her first assist of the season and the first assist of her career on Haase's second goal.
