ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's soccer team (3-1-3, 2-1-1) will continue NSIC play this weekend, facing the Vikings of Augustana on Friday before taking on the Wildcats of Wayne State on Sunday. 
 
The Navy and Gold will host two games at Sea Foam Stadium this weekend, first against Augustana (4-1-2, 2-1-1) at 6 p.m. on Sept. 25, followed by Wayne State (2-5, 1-3) at 1 p.m. on Sept. 27. 
 
PURCHASE TICKETS IN ADVANCE ONLINE 
Fans are highly encouraged to purchase tickets online at cspbears.com/tickets prior to game day. All ticketed events for the 26-27 academic year will utilize the Vivenue online ticket platform found at that link and fans must scan a mobile ticket to enter. Tickets will still be sold on site on game day but purchases are card-only and include additional fees. The best way for fans to make their game day entry as smooth as possible is to purchase tickets online in advance. CSP Students, Faculty and Staff will be able to download their free passes through Vivenue.  
 
WATCH ONLINE - MIDCO SPORTS PLUS
Starting with the 2026-27 season, Concordia and the NSIC will call Midco Sports Plus the streaming home for the NSIC Network. Midco Sports Plus, a regional cable provider primarily based in North Dakota, South Dakota, and parts of Minnesota, features an expanded variety of online sports coverage.
 
The NSIC Network will be part of a subscription service with annual access plans starting at under $7 per month for the full year ($79/year) or a monthly service for $15, which includes NSIC coverage as well as Summit League coverage.
 
Concordia's home broadcasts will continue to feature multiple cameras with instant replay, along with commentary from St. Paul-native Dan Flanagan, a graduate of Fordham University (N.Y.), where he covered multiple NCAA Division I sports teams on campus for the Rams, including football and basketball in the Patriot League. Flanagan has been the broadcast voice of the Golden Bears for nearly 20 years and called multiple national, regional, and conference championships.

RECAP OF THE WEEK
The Golden Bears opened NSIC road play with a 1-0 loss to UMary before bouncing back with a 2-0 win over Minot State.
 
Friday's match marked Concordia's first loss of the season after opening the year with a 2-0-3 record. 
 
Game One: CSP 0, UMARY 1
The Golden Bears fell to 4-18-3 all-time against the Rangers following their 1-0 loss to the Marauders.
 
UMary controlled the first half, maintaining possession and keeping play in CSP's defensive end for much of the period. Dina Polanco put UMary on the board in the 14th minute, scoring off assists from Bella Kozlowski and Alex Guinn to give the Marauders an early 1-0 lead. With the goal, Polanco tied CSP's Sophia Haase for the NSIC lead with six goals on the season.
 
The Marauders outshot the Golden Bears 8-1, including a 4-0 advantage in shots on goal, while limiting CSP's opportunities in the offensive third. CSP held a 2-1 advantage in corner kicks during the first half.
 
In the second half, CSP created better scoring opportunities, recording seven shots and two corner kicks. The Golden Bears also tightened up defensively, limiting the Marauders to two shots and no shots on goal.
 
Despite creating more chances, the Golden Bears struggled to generate quality shots on goal and could not capitalize on several late opportunities. CSP continued to apply pressure in the final minutes, but it was not enough as the match concluded with a 1-0 loss.
 
Senior goalkeeper Sydney Potter got her 6th start of the season in net, where she made three saves to bring her season total to 18.  
 
Leading the CSP defense was Maddison Balashaitis and Morgan Bilczewski who each played a full 90-minute game on the pitch. 
 
Sophia Haase and Brooke Nelson held down the midfield, each having a full game outing. 
 
Game Two: CSP 2, MINOT STATE 0
CSP improved to 6-8-4 all-time against the Beavers, winning three of the last four meetings. 
 
Sophia Haase and Brooke Nelson highlighted the day for the Navy and Gold, each scoring a goal. Haase's goal moved her into the NSIC lead with seven goals on the season, while Nelson recorded her first goal of the year. 
 
CSP controlled the game throughout, holding advantages in shots (15-7) and shots on goal (6-4), while Minot State held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
 
In the first half, the Golden Bears set the pace and created several scoring opportunities. Sophia Haase opened the scoring in the 17th minute, working past multiple defenders before finishing a pass from Lexi Pettit to give CSP a 1-0 lead. Nine minutes later, Brooke Nelson doubled the lead, converting a free kick in the 26th minute to put the Golden Bears ahead 2-0. 
 
CSP carried its momentum into the second half, looking to close out the road trip on a high note. Minot State applied pressure and recorded five shots, including three on goal, while holding a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks. However, the Golden Bears stayed composed and continued to battle defensively.
 
Sydney Potter and the CSP defense held strong against the Beavers' pressure, keeping Minot State off the scoreboard in the second half. The Golden Bears locked down defensively to secure the 2-0 victory and close out their North Dakota road trip.
 
Lexi Pettit recorded the assist on Haase's goal, marking her third of the season. The assist puts Pettit in second place in the NSIC and first on the team in assists.
 
Senior goalkeeper Sydney Potter recorded three saves on the day, earning her 22nd career shutout. 
 
Three different Golden Bears recorded three or more shots in the match, led by Sophia Haase with four. Ashley Bennett and Brooke Nelson each recorded three shots. Haase and Nelson also tied for the team lead with two shots on goal apiece.
 
On the defensive side of the pitch, Maddison Balashaitis and Morgan Bilczewski led the team in minutes played, each playing the full 90 minutes while helping hold the Beavers to seven shots.  

SEASON LEADERS
Haase is tied for the NSIC lead and leads the Golden Bears with seven goals this season, ranking third in Division II. She is also tied for first in the conference with three game-winning goals.
 
Lexi Pettit is tied for second in the NSIC and leads the Golden Bears with three assists this season. 

Haase leads the team and ranks third in the NSIC in shots, while Pettit leads CSP with 11 shots on goal, tied for fourth in the conference.

Maddison Balashaitis, Brooke Nelson, and Haase have each played at least 550 minutes this season, with Balashaitis leading the team with 630 minutes played. 

Potter leads the Golden Bears with seven 90-minute starts and is tied for third in the NSIC with a 0.57 goals-against average. She ranks fifth in save percentage at .840, 10th in saves with 21 and fifth in shutouts with three.
 
HISTORY BETWEEN CSP AND AUGUSTANA
The two programs have met a total of 20 times with the Vikings holding a 4-14-2 all-time advantage. CSP has won two of the last three matchups against Augustana.

Last season, Concordia-St. Paul defeated the Vikings 2-0. Returners Sophia Haase and Brooke Nelson scored within the first six minutes, with Haase's goal assisted by Lainie Wehmhoff.

ABOUT THE VIKINGS
Augustana posted a 11-5-3 (9-4-2 NSIC) record in 2025, finishing sixth in the NSIC.

The Vikings were picked fourth in the NSIC preseason poll with 174 points. This marks the second consecutive year Augustana has been selected in the top five after being picked fifth last season.

Augustana enters the matchup with a 4-1-2 overall record and a 2-1-1 mark in NSIC play after drawing 1-1 with Minnesota Duluth and falling 2-0 to Bemidji State this past weekend.

Eight different Vikings have scored a goal this season, led by Delaney Awe, who has two goals and two assists.

In the NSIC preseason release, senior Madelyn White  and junior Ashlyn Kelliher  were selected as Augustana's Offensive and Defensive Players to Watch.

White appeared in and started 19 games last season, scoring 13 goals and adding two assists for 28 points. She also earned several accolades, including All-NSIC First Team and D2CCA All-Central Region First Team honors.

On the defensive side, Kelliher was selected as the Vikings' Defensive Player to Watch. She played in 19 games and started 17, helping Augustana limit opponents to 0.89 goals per game.

HISTORY BETWEEN CSP AND WAYNE STATE
CSP enters the matchup 18-9-3 all-time against the Wildcats, going 7-1-2 in the last ten matchups.

Last season, Concordia-St. Paul played to a 2-2 draw against Wayne State. Returner Brooke Nelson scored both goals for the Golden Bears, with Lexi Pettit recording an assist on the first goal. 

Nelson earned NSIC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 6 for her performance.

ABOUT THE WILDCATS
Wayne State posted a 6-8-4 (5-8-2 NSIC) record in 2025, finishing eleventh in the conference.
 
The Wildcats were picked eleventh in the NSIC preseason poll, receiving 95 points. 

Wayne State enters the matchup with a 2-5 overall record and a 1-3 mark in NSIC play after falling 1-0 to Bemidji State and Minnesota Duluth last weekend.

Briella Thompsen leads the Vikings this season with three goals and Olivia Thompson leads the NSIC with four assists this season.
 
Senior defender Tyler Donaldson and junior forward Morgan Mancuso were selected as Wayne State's Players to Watch in the NSIC this season.

Mancuso is the Wildcats' Offensive Player to Watch after leading the team in scoring last season with 13 points on six goals and one assist. She also led Wayne State with 39 shots and 16 shots on goal while earning All-NSIC Second Team honors.

Donaldson was selected as Wayne State's Defensive Player to Watch. She appeared in all 18 games last season, making 16 starts and recording two assists. She ranked fifth on the team with 1,178 minutes played and helped the Wildcats record six shutouts.
