SERIES HISTORY: CSP 1, JAMESTOWN 1
The "Golden Bears" have never faced the Jimmies, as CSP moved to NCAA Division II and Northern Sun (NSIC) membership in the 1999 football season, departing the UMAC and NAIA affiliations.

However, Concordia faced Jamestown in the "Comet-era" of CSP football, falling 12-6 in 1971 and picking up a 25-18 win in 1972.

CSP football was formed in 1969, making the 1971 and 1972 seasons the infancy of the program, with the Comets facing the Jimmies in the third and fourth years of the program.

CSP was affiliated with the Tri-State Conference in those years, producing a 4-5 and 4-4 record in the two seasons.

The teams will wake up the dormant series in 2025 with Jamestown's entry into the Northern Sun, as the Jimmies become the 14th football-playing member institution and 16th full member of the conference.

LAST MEETING, 1971 & 1972
Not much is known about the last time Concordia faced the Jimmies. Concordia, then known as the Concordia College Comets, began its football program not long before those two games in 1969.

In CSP's third year of football, the Comets fell to the Jimmies 12-6 in 1971 in the second to last game of the season.

In year four of the football program, Concordia picked up a 25-18 win over Jamestown in the season finale as CSP won its final three games of the year.

In those two seasons, Concordia posted a 4-5 record in 1971 and a 4-4 mark in 1972. CSP was a member of the Tri-State Conference and competing at the NAIA level in those two seasons.

ABOUT THE JIMMIES
The Jimmies are in their first year as members of the Northern Sun (NSIC) and are in the midst of the transition to NCAA Division II membership, previously serving as members of the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) at the NAIA affiliation.

In its last year of NAIA competition, Jamestown produced a 3-7 overall record and went 3-5 in the NSAA, tying for third in the 5-team league. But the Jimmies also finished strong, winning three of their final four games including a slim 5-point loss to nationally-ranked Dickinson State (35-30) in the only loss down the stretch.

Picked to finish seventh of seven in the NSIC North Division and 14th in the 14-team overall Northern Sun preseason poll, the Jimmies are seeking their first NCAA Division II and NSIC victory. After falling 37-7 on the road at Augustana in the opener, the Jimmies came up empty in a pair of home NSIC games, falling 12-7 to Southwest Minnesota State and 36-7 to Minnesota State.

Quarterback Cole Hentges leads the team's ground attack with 149 yards and a 6.5 average with a touchdown and has completed 19-45 for 137 yards with a 1-2 TD-INT ratio. Nicholas Martinez is the passing threat of the Jimmies' two QB system, completing 29-54 for 325 yards with a 1-1 TD-INT ratio while adding 12-27 rushing.

Three receivers have nine-plus catches led by Nate Burke with 10-172 and a TD while Ethan Hoffman adds 9-87 and Erastus Antsino has 10-58.

Zach Hammett has rushed 35 times for 119 yards and adds 6-40 receiving with a touchdown catch. Antsino also has rushed 4-25, a 6.3 average.

Jackson Walters leads the defense with 17 takcles while Zach Mueller has 16 tackles, 2.0 TFLs and a half sack. Hershell Jefferson has the team's lone INT to go with 13 tackles and has forced a pair of fumbles.

The Jimmies have scored seven points in each outing, and attempted one field goal, a miss in the 20-29 range.
