Golden Bears finish the opening round tied for sixth at the CSP/MSU Fall Brawl

HUDSON, Wisc. — The Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team finished round one of the CSP/MSU Fall Brawl in sixth place. The Golden Bears shot 323 (+39) to end the opening round tied with Sioux Falls. 

Addi Wood is Concordia's individual leader at the end of the first round, the freshman shot a 73 (+2). Putting together a strong front nine with three consecutive birdies on holes three, four and five to head into the turn at even par. On the back nine, Wood birdied the 149 yard, par three, finishing the day two-over-par and in third place on the individual leaderboard. 

Piper Hill shot a 80 (+9), tallying one birdie on the scorecard on the 359 yard, par four, 17th hole. Hill ended the day nine-over-par and in 22nd-place in the individual competition. 

Junior Rebecca DeLong carded a 83 (+12) in the opening round, good for 41st place at the end of one day of play. Ella Matzke birdied once on the front nine and finished the opening round with a score of 87 (+16). 

Darby Barstad managed two birdies on the front nine, carding a 87 (+16) in round one and tied for 63rd place with Matzke. 

Minnesota State finished the opening round in the top spot on the individual leaderboard scoring a 301 (+17). The Mavericks performance opened up a seven stroke lead on second place Northwest Missouri. Washburn rounded out the top three, finishing the day a collective 27-over-par. 

The Golden Bears are currently tied with Sioux Falls for sixth at 39-over-par, with a two stroke lead on eighth place Minnesota-Crookston. 

Emerson Garlie of Minnesota State sits atop the individual leaderboard at the end of one round of play. Garlic shot a 71 (E) and currently has a one stroke lead on Washburn's Keira Ronsick. Addi Wood sits two strokes off the lead entering the final round of play.
