Six Golden Bear women named to CSC Academic All-District® At-Large Team

Four lacrosse players and two golfers earn the honor

GREENWOOD, Ind. - The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), was released Tuesday Morning with six CSP athletes earning the honor. Anna Fisher, Claire Flahaven, Kayleigh Nelson and Anna Palony represent the CSP Lacrosse Team. Darby Barstad and Piper hill were named from CSP women's golf. 

The Women's At-Large program includes student-athletes from the following NCAA sports: beach volleyball, bowling, crew-rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, tennis and water polo. 

This year's four lacrosse players marks the second consecutive year and ties the program record while marking the second year with two CSP golfers. Both Hill, Fisher and Flahaven earn the repeat honor after making their first appearance last season. 

The Academic All-District® Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. Fisher and Flahaven will advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, with first, second and third-team Academic All-America® selections announced on July 8.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All‐America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All‐America® programs.

Anna Fisher (Sr., Stillwater, Minn. / Stillwater Area HS)

  • Two-time CSC Academic All-District (2024-24 2024-25)

  • Two-time GLIAC All-Tournament Team (2024 & 2025)

  • 2024 and 2025 GLIAC All-Tournament Team 

  • 2025 GLIAC First-Team All-Conference 

  • GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week 

  • 2024 GLIAC Second-Team All-Conference

  • Ranks first in CSP single-season shots per game, shots on goal, SOG per game and shots attempted

  • Tied for fourth all-time in CSP career goals with 93

  • Ranks second in CSP single-season goals per game with 2.94

  • Recorded 50 goals and 56 points this season

Claire Flahaven (Jr., Elk River, Minn. / Elk River HS)

  • Two-time CSC Academic All-District (2023-24 & 2024-25)

  • 2025 GLIAC Defender of the Year

  • Three-time All-GLIAC First Team (2023, 2024 & 2025)

  • Two-time GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week 

  • Tallied a team-high 26 caused turnovers and 26 ground balls 

  • Recorded 31 draw controls on the season

  • Ranks first in career caused turnovers (49) and caused turnovers per game (2.72)

Kayleigh Nelson (Jr., Elk River, Minn. / Elk River HS)

  • 2024-25 CSC Academic All-District 

  • Two-Time All-GLIAC Honorable Mention (2023 & 2025)

  • Tallied 20 draw controls and 11 goals on the season

  • Ranked fifth on the team in total points scored with 16

  • Had a career-high three goals against Walsh

  • Recorded four points against Saginaw Valley State

Anna Palony (Jr., Robbinsdale, Minn. / Robbinsdale Cooper HS)

  • 2024-25 CSC Academic All District 

  • 2025 All-GLIAC Honorable Mention 

  • Two-time All-GLIAC Academic Excellence Team

  • Tallied 25 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers on the season

  • Had a career-high four ground balls at Quincy 

  • Forced a career-high three turnovers against Northern Michigan

Darby Barstad (Jr., Gillette, Wyo. / Thunder Basin HS)

  • 2024-25 CSC Academic All-District

  • Had six top-30 finishes this season

  • Recorded an average score of 82.24 for a career-best in a season

  • Shot a season-best 158 (+14) to tie for fourth at the Augustana Spring Invitational

  • Opened the season tying for 10th at the Tracy Lane Memorial

  • Shot a season-best round of 78 (+6) four different times

Piper Hill (Jr., Medford, Minn. / Shattuck St. Mary's)

  • Two time CSC Academic All-District (2023-24 & 2024-25)

  • 2024 All-NSIC Second Team

  • 2024 NSIC All-Tournament Team

  • Tallied seven top-25 finishes this season

  • Averaged a team-best score of 80.67

  • Tied for fourth at the Augustana Spring Invitational for her highest finish

  • Shot three-over-par in the first round at the Grace Shin Regional Preview for a season-low round

  • Tied that season-low the next week at the Sioux Falls Invitational
