ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's lacrosse team (4-7, 1-2 GLIAC) prepares for a single-game week where they will travel to face the Wildcats of Northern Michigan (8-3, 2-1 GLIAC).

Action will take place in Marquette, Mich. on Saturday, Apr. 4 at 11 a.m. CT at the Superior Dome on the campus of Northern Michigan where the Golden Bears will look to earn a bounce-back win.

LAST TIME OUT
Game One: DU 10, CSP 6
Leading the game for the Golden Bears was freshman Shelby Marik has now scored a goal in each game this season and holds seven multi-goal games.

It was a close game throughout the contest, and until the final minutes of the fourth quarter no team saw more than a two goal lead.

Five offensive turnovers would end the scoring chances for the Golden Bears and see the Panthers go on a 4-0 run to seal the win 10-6.

Sophomore Ruby Swenson notched a season-high five ground balls and three caused turnovers to lead the defensive effort for Concordia.

Junior Marge Lucio saw her seventh start of the season in the net where she made nine saves, her second most of the season to bring her season total to 42.

As a team, the Navy and Gold went 19-26 on clear attempts and committed 25 turnovers. Davenport out-shot CSP 27-23 and 18-11 on goal.

Game Two: GVSU 7, CSP 4
The three-goal loss marked the closest game between the two programs and closest margin of victory for the Lakers since last season's 10-5 win over Concordia.

Leading the Golden Bears on the offensive side was freshman Shelby Marik who recorded her eighth multi-goal game of the season and kept her perfect scoring streak in-tact.

On the defensive side of the turf, Sophomore Ruby Swenson led the team with five ground balls and one caused turnover to match her season-high that she set on Friday's game against Davenport.

Freshman Alayna Roehl scored her 15th goal of the season with 1:30 left in the game to cut the deficit to three. Unfortunately the clock would run out on the Golden Bear's comeback bid and the Lakers would earn the 7-4 victory.

Junior Marge Lucio earned her second consecutive start of the weekend and her eighth start of the season, making a game-high eight saves. She brings her season total to 50 and notches her third straight game with 8-plus saves.

The tight contest saw CSP slightly edge GVSU 24-21 in ground balls and the Lakers won 9-13 draw controls.

Concordia tallied 19 shots with 10 coming on goal with Grand Valley State having 20 shots and 14 on goal. Both teams went 0-2 on free-position attempts.
