MANKATO, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul men's and women's track and field teams continued their outdoor seasons over the weekend with Golden Bear athletes competing at both the UW-Platteville Invitational on Friday and the Minnesota State Open on Saturday.

The Minnesota State Open was a scored meet with both the Golden Bear men and women placing fourth with 81 and 55 points, respectively.

Junior thrower Maya Lavendusky provided a major highlight for the Golden Bear women, shattering the school record and claiming an individual event win in the shot put. Her mark of 13.75 meters (45' 1.5") broke Hannah Gustafson's 2019 mark of 44' 11.5".  That distance is the second farthest in the NSIC so far this season.

In Platteville, Wis., senior Emmett Faltesek set a new personal record in the 1500-meter run, finishing in 3:50.60 to win the event.

Back in Mankato, Sophomore Cadence Tanner placed well in a pair of jumping events, finishing sixth in the high jump and third in the long jump. Her distance of 5.79 meters (19') in the long jump was a new personal best.
