BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - The Concordia-St. Paul men's golf team scored 572 (-4) to pick up its fourth tournament victory of the season at the NSIC Preview at Adams Pointe Golf Club. Senior Thomas Gutzmer took first place tying the program's lowest two-round score at 135 (-9).

The Golden Bears have now won the CSP Fall Brawl, the Watkins Invitational, the Maverick Spring Invite and the NSIC Conference Preview marking four wins this season. This surpasses the 2022-23 season when the team won three tournaments for the most in program history.

Gutzmer shot rounds of 67 (-5) and 68 (-4) to win the tournament by three strokes. These are the second-lowest and third-lowest rounds of Gutzmer's career behind the 65 (-6) he shot to end the fall season.

The senior shot five birdies, 12 pars and one bogey on Tuesday. He finished the tournament with 11 birdies, 23 pars and two bogeys. Gutzmer's 11 birdies tied for the most at the tournament and he had the least amount of bogeys of any player. He was five-under-par on par fours, tying for the second-best score.

Gutzmer defeated Winona State's Tyler Gandrud and Friends' (Kan.) Trinton Nobles in second place shooting 138 (-6). Gandrud competed as an individual for the Warriors. Gutzmer's 67 (-5) marked the lowest round for any golfer at the tournament and his 68 (-4) tied four other golfers for the second-lowest round.

This is Gutzmer's first tournament win as a Golden Bear. He placed second earlier this season at the Washburn Invitational and at the Watkins Invitational. His 135 (-9) ties Brandon Sperling in 2022 and knocks down Josh Esterley's 136 (-8) from the Watkins Invitational earlier this season down to third in school history.

Esterley tied for 12th after shooting 72 (E) and 71 (-1) for a total of 143 (-1). He played a wild round on Tuesday with six birdies, seven pars and five bogeys for the 71 (-1). This marks his third top-20 finish of the season.

The sophomore tallied 11 birdies, 17 pars, six bogeys and two double bogeys. His 11 birdies tied Gutzmer for the most in the tournament. Esterley tied for the seventh-best score on par fours at one-under-par. This is his fourth time shooting 71 in a round this season.

Tommy Marker shot 75 (+4) on Tuesday after shooting 71 (-1) in round one. His 147 (+3) total tied for 30th. The senior finished the tournament with five birdies, 24 pars, six bogeys and one double bogey. His Tuesday score was not used toward the team total.

Marker's t-30th-place finish is his fourth-highest of the season. He finished three-under-par on par fours at the tournament, marking the fifth-best score of any golfer.

Freshman Tyler Debruyckere had the third-best score for CSP on Tuesday shooting 73 (+1) to finish with a total of 149 (+5). He tied for 49th, jumping up 20 places on day two.
