ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Concordia-St. Paul men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete in the Lewis Crossover at the Lewis Cross Country Course in Romeoville, Illinois this Saturday, Oct. 11.
The women's Red Race 6k is scheduled to begin at 9:45 a.m. with the men's Red Race 8k scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
Meet Info
Lewis University is hosting the 10th annual Lewis Crossover Invitational at the Lewis Cross Country Course. The Course is located on the south side of the Lewis University campus, the race start and finish are located just to the south of Lewis Stadium. Both the 6k and 8k races will make two loops around the course before making their way to the finish line.
The Lewis Cross Country Course opened for competition in 2014 and hosts both the Lewis Early Bird and Lewis Crossover meets as well as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship. The course features setup options for four, five, six, eight and 10 kilometer races.
Last Season
The Concordia men's team finished third out of 16 teams at last season's Lewis Crossover, with Emmett Faltesek leading the way with a sixth place finish in the 8k.
Andrew Alexander posted a personal best time of 26:39.20 to place 39th. Ethan Blischke also posted a personal best at last season's Lewis Crossover, coming in with a time of 27:00 to finish 51st.
Andrew Boyum placed 80th with a time of 27:26.0, Travis Tock and Zay Acosta posted times of 27:31.50 and 27:53.40. Josh Krummel also posted a personal best time of 27:58.60.
On the women's side CSP placed 10th out of 13 teams. Maddy Bryant led the way for the women, coming with a time of 25:47.70 to finish 46th.
Nyadio Chan posted a personal best 6k time of 25:54.7 to come in 49th. Elise Atkins also posted a personal best, coming in with a time of 30:30.5.
Last Time Out
The Golden Bears competed in their third meet of the season at the Blugold Invitational in Colfax, Wisconsin. The CSP men's team managed a 22nd place finish and the women came in 33rd.
Andrew Boyum was the top finisher on the men's side, finishing the 8k in 27:17.9 to finish in 138th place. Travis Tock finished in 148th place coming in with a time of 27:28.6.
Freshman Brock Johnson ran his first collegiate 8k posting a time of 27:38.2 to finish in 152nd place. Matthew Urgiles-Suarez came in with a time of 29:55.2 to finish 196th.
Zay Acosta finished 220th with a time of 28:51.2, Jordan Stumm posted a time of 2941.7 to finish 246th and Josh Krummel ran a 31:14.6 to come in 281st.
On the women's side Lauryn Rosenthal led the way, coming in with a time of 25:37.0 to finish 204th. Nyadio Chan managed a 214th place finish coming in with a time of 25:50.0.
Chloe Rihon made her cross country debut, posting a time of 29:51.1 to finish 317th, and Elise Atkins finished 333rd with a time of 34:22.2.
