Golden Bears finish 15th at the Grace Shin Invitational

Freshman Addi Wood recorded her third even-par round of the season to finish in 13th place individually.

EDMOND, Okla. — The Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team wrapped up the final round of play at the Grace Shin Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the Kickingbird Golf Course. The Golden Bears shot a collective 636 (+68) across both rounds to finish in 15th place. 

Freshman golfer Addi Wood led the way for CSP, carding a 71 (E) in the final round, surging 13 spots to finish in 14th place. Wood started the day right tallying the first of four birdies on the 331 yard, par four 15th hole. Adding another birdie on the 538 yard, par five 18th hole, to go along with 11 pars. 

Wood shot a 75 in round one to card a 146 (+4) for the tournament, her even-par second round score of 71 also matches her season single round low. 

Ella Matzke tallied three birdies in the final round to shoot a 75 (+4), Matzke's first birdie of the day came on the par five, 18th hole. Adding on two more on the seventh and 15th hole to finish the day four-over-par. 

The sophomore carded a 160 (+18) for the tournament moving up 17 spots on the final day to finish in 66th place. 

Piper Hill tallied two birdies in the final round, to shoot a 81 (+10). Hill scored an 84 in the first round to card a 165 (+23) for the tournament finishing in 74th place. 

Rebecca DeLong shot a 83 (+12), tallying two birdies on the day. In the first round DeLong scored an 82 to card a 165 (+23) to finish tied with Hill for 74th place. 

Senior Darby Barstad rounded things out for CSP, shooting a 90 (+19) in the final round to card a 176 (+34) for the tournament. 

Central Missouri claimed the top spot on the team leaderboard, the Mules finished even-par in the first round and 12-over-par in round two, finishing three strokes ahead of second place Arkansas Tech. 

Winona State finished as the top NSIC school coming in sixth after shooting a collective 32-over-par. Minnesota State finished 15 strokes behind the Warriors in ninth place. 

Mia Rallo of Central Arkansas shot a 70 (-1) in the final round to card a 136 (-6) and claim the top spot in the individual competition. 

Addi Wood was the top individual finisher among NSIC competitors, finishing 14th, one stroke ahead of Winona State's Kelby Anderson. 

The Golden Bears close out the fall portion of their schedule next week at the USF Invite at the Grand Falls Golf Club in Larchwood, Iowa on Oct. 13-14.
