EDMOND, Okla. — The Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team completed the first round of play at the Grace Shin Invite in Edmond, Oklahoma on Monday afternoon. The Golden Bears finished the day with a team score of 326(+42) in 18th place.
Addi Wood tallied two birdies on the day to shoot a 75 (+4) and ended the day in 28th place on the individual leaderboard. Wood recovered from a couple of early bogeys, birdying on the par 5, sixth hole and adding another birdie on the par 4, 11th hole to finish the day four-over-par.
Wood currently sits in third place among NSIC competitors, one stroke behind Winona State's Lindsey Lund.
Junior Rebecca DeLong tallied 12 pars on the scorecard in the first round to shoot a 82 (+11). Delong ended the day in 72nd on the individual leaderboard.
Piper Hill tallied one birdie on the day, shooting a 84 (+13) in the opening round and in 78th place overall. Hill started the day with a double bogey on 16, but recovered from there finishing the day with eight pars and the birdie on the 324 yard, par four, 12th hole.
Ella Matzke put one birdie on the scorecard in the opening round, the sophomore shot a 85 (+14) to finish the day in 83rd place. Darby Barstad rounded things out for the Golden Bears, carding a 86 (+15) in round one to end the day in 88th place.
Central Missouri ended the day in first place on the team leaderboard, the Mules tallied a team score of 284 (E). Tournament host Central Oklahoma sits in second place four strokes off the top spot.
Winona State ended the day as the top NSIC squad, the Warriors currently sit in eighth place with a score of 301 (+17).
Mia Rallo of Central Missouri is the individual leader in the clubhouse through one round of play. Rall shot a 66 (-5) in the opening round, tallying six birdies on the scorecard.
Winona State's Megan Young is the top NISC competitor at the end of round one after shooting a 73 (+2) in the opening round to finish the day tied for 15th.
The Golden Bears are back in action tomorrow morning to wrap up play at the final round of the Grace Shin Invite at the Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond, Oklahoma.
