Golden Bears set to compete at Central Oklahoma on Monday

CSP men’s and women’s golf head to Edmond, Oklahoma to participate in the Skip Wagnon and Grace Shin Invites.

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Concordia-St. Paul men's and women's golf teams head to Edmond, Oklahoma to compete in the Skip Wagnon and Grace Shin Invitationals hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma at the Kickingbird Golf Course on Monday, Oct. 6.

18 teams are scheduled to compete at the Skip Wagnon Invitational, four other NSIC schools are making the trip to central Oklahoma along with CSP. The field includes Winona State, Southern Nazarene University, Southeastern Oklahoma State, University of Central Oklahoma, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Missouri Southern State, Bemidji State, Oklahoma Christian University, Arkansas Tech, Fort Hays State, Henderson State, Newman University, Minnesota State, Sioux Falls, University of Arkansas at Monticello and St. Mary's University of Texas. 

The Golden Bear men's team last played at the Kickingbird Golf Club in 2023 when they competed at the NCAA Super Regional preview, where they finished in seventh place. 

On the women's side the Grace Shin Invite will feature 19 teams competing at the Kickingbird Golf Club, including two other NSIC schools. The field includes the University of Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma Baptist University, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Drury University, Southeastern Oklahoma State, the University of Central Missouri, Missouri Western State, Southern Nazarene University, Newman University, Northwest Missouri State, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Minnesota State, Henderson State, Winona State, Pittsburg State and East Central University. 

The Golden Bears competed at the Grace Shin Invite last season, finishing 21st out of 24 teams with a score of 628 (+28). Piper Hill was CSP's individual leader, shooting a 149 (+9) across both rounds to finish in 37th place. 

Last time out 
Concordia last competed at the Jewel Invitational hosted by Winona State on Sept. 22-23. The Golden Bear men's team placed sixth out of 11 teams with a score of 574 (-2). 

Trey Timm was CSP's top finisher, shooting a 139 (-5) across both rounds to finish eighth on the individual leaderboard. Timm's five-under-par finish was a personal 36 hole low for the senior golfer. 

Chase Camilli finished 18th individually after carding a 142 (-2) across 36 holes of play. Josh Esterley managed a 33rd place finish after shooting a 147 (+3). Freshman Carson Boe carded an identical 147 (+3) to finish tied with Esterley in 33rd place. 

On the women's side, Concordia finished fourth out of 12 teams with a score of 612 (+44). 

Addi Wood carded a 142 (E) across both rounds to finish in second place as CSP's top finisher, one stroke off the lead. Wood's performance set a new 36 hole program low, besting Rachel Gray's 36 hole low of 144 at the UIU Invite in 2013. 

Rebecca DeLong carded a 155 (+13) to finish in 18th place on the individual leaderboard. DeLong set a new personal 36 hole low, besting her previous score of 159 by four shots. 

Piper Hill and Ella Matzke carded identical scores of 158 (+16) to finish tied for 26th place. Darby Barstad finished in 35th place after carding a 163 (+21).
