LARCHWOOD, Iowa — The Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team wrapped up the final round of play at the USF Invitational in Larchwood, Iowa this afternoon. The Golden Bears finished in sixth place after shooting a collective 655 (+30).
CSP was led by Piper Hill, who came out on top individually. The senior carded a 78 (+6) in the final round to go along with a 72 (E) in round one to score a 148 (+6) across both rounds to finish as the tournament champion.
Hill was consistent all afternoon, tallying 13 pars on the scorecard to finish three strokes ahead of the competition. Hill's 148 is a new career 36 hole low, besting her previous low of 149 at the 2024 Grace Shin Regional Invitational.
Hill's performance was made possible by a tournament leading five birdie first round, tacking on one eagle to finish the day at even par. Her round one performance was a new single round career low beating her previous low of 73, which was also set at last year's Grace Shin Invitational.
Ella Matzke shot a 86 (+14) in the second round to card a 167 (+23) for the tournament after shooting a 81 (+9) in round one. Matzke finished the tournament in 24th place individually.
Addi Wood tallied two birdies in the final round shooting an 86 (+14), to go along with a 82 (+10) in round one. The freshman carded a 168 (+24) across both rounds finishing in 27th place.
Rebecca DeLong shot a 87 (+15) in the final round of play, after shooting a 85 (+13) in the opening round. DeLong carded a 172 (+28) through 36 holes of play to finish tied for 38th place.
Darby Barstad rounded out the CSP five with a 89 (+17) in round two. The senior shot a 83 (+11) with two birdies on the scorecard in the opening round, to card a 172 (+28) to finish in a tie with DeLong for 38th place.
Wayne State captured the title in the team competition, shooting a collective 327 (+39) in the second round, carding a 638 (+62) for the tournament finishing three strokes ahead of second place Augustana.
Piper Hill finished the tournament with a three stroke lead in the individual competition. Minnesota Crookston's Emma Pierson came in second with a collective score of 153 (+9) across 36 holes of play. Hailey Kenkel of Wayne State carded a 154 (+10), to finish in third place.
The Golden Bears will now take a four month hiatus before returning to play in March for the spring portion of their schedule.
