Golden Bears take top spot at St. Kate’s Pentathlon and Hamline Diving Invite

Both sides of the program found themselves victorious at their respective meets

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's swimming and diving team finished both the Hamline Diving Invite and the St. Kate's Pentathlon in the top spot to sweep their star-studded day in the pool on Saturday afternoon between the Bush Center Pool on the campus of Hamline University and the Butler Center Pool on the campus of St. Catherine University. 

Highlighting the day for the Golden Bears was Sophie Leo who was the highest finisher for the Navy and Gold, taking second place overall with 413 points. This is Leo's highest finish at the St. Kate's Pentathlon. 

Chloe Rihon and Claire Briest wrapped-up the top-five placements for Concordia, each recording over 380 points on the day. 

In the individual races, the Golden Bears finished with 14 top-five placements and a single top-finish by Leo in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.23. 

On the diving board, Reese Bjorklund and Chloe Jones each took a first-place finish with Bjorlund in the 1-meter and Jones in the 3-meter to give CSP the diving sweep. 

The Golden Bears will return to the pool next Saturday hosting a double-dual against the Mavericks of Minnesota State and the Mustangs of Southwest Minnesota State. Action will take place at the Two Rivers Aquatic Center, the home of Concordia-St. Paul swimming and diving with a 12 p.m. start.
