SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team is in fourth place after Friday's first round of the NSIC Championships. Sophomore Piper Hill battled the cold conditions and leads the team after shooting 76 (+4) tying for fourth place.

Hill started the day shooting seven pars and a birdie on her first eight holes. She finished with two birdies, 11 pars, four bogeys and a double bogey. Hill shot even on par threes. 

Senior Anna Tollette is tied in 19th place after shooting 81 (+9). The senior started and ended her day with double bogeys, but shot 11 pars and five bogeys in between those holes. 

Darby Barstad shot an 86 (+14) on the day tying for 33rd place. The sophomore's highlight of the day was a birdie on hole two. Rebecca DeLong was one stroke behind at 87 (+15) tying for 36th. She hit a birdie on a hole seven par four. Sage Mulder tied for 58th shooting 102 (+30). 

The Golden Bears shot 330 (+42) as a team, trailing Winona State in third place with a score of 308 (+20). CSP leads a tight race in fourth place as Wayne State is behind in fifth shooting 331 (+43) and UMary is in sixth place shooting 333 (+45). 

Augustana leads the tournament after shooting 300 (+12) as a team. Minnesota State is in second place shooting 305 (+17). Augustana's Lauren Tims leads the tournament after shooting 71 (-1), and Winona State's Carly Moon is in second place after shooting 72 (E). 

Round two action is set for tomorrow at 9 a.m. at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex.
