INDIANAPOLIS - Concordia-St. Paul's Brandon Sperling will compete at the NCAA Division II Central/Midwest Regional after being named as one of the eight individual competitors on Friday. Regional play takes place on May 9-11 at KickingBird Golf Club in Edmond, Oklahoma.

The junior earns this honor after placing fourth at the NSIC Tournament in Blue Springs, Missouri last weekend. Sperling shot 217 (+1) to help the Golden Bears tie for third place in the NSIC tournament.

Sperling also competed at the NCAA Midwest Regional last season. He tied for 25th after shooting 220 (+7) over the three-day tournament in Winona, Minnesota.

The Golden Bears competed at KickingBird Golf Club earlier this season on Oct. 16-17 for the NCAA Super Regional Preview. Sperling took third place in the tournament shooting 204 (-6), a career-low 54-hole score for him.

Sperling has the lowest career average in school history at 74.07. His average of 72.2 this season is also the lowest in a single season in school history. Sperling was named NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year last weekend too.

The top five teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals, May 21-25 at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winter Garden, Florida. The finals will be hosted by Rollins College and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.
