Tarnue David's big day highlights Holst Invitational

CSP sprinters contributes to four of the team's wins on the day

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul track & field teams celebrated the Holst Invitational with 29 top-five finishes and six wins on a chilly Saturday at Sea Foam Stadium.

Tarnue David had a huge day as he had a hand in four of the team's six victories, picking up individual wins in the 100m and 200m while helping the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams to wins as well. 

David's big highlight came in the 200m as he broke the meet record with a time of 21.81 seconds. He earned the top spot in the 100m with a mark of 10.90 seconds. Joining forces with Cullen Heminover, Ashton Brown and Priestly Jibunor in the 4x100m relay and Calder Erick, Drake Daniels and Ashton Brown in the 4x400m relay, helped the quartets to respective times of 42.83 seconds and 3:27.22.

In total, the men's team tallied 27 top-10 finishes and 18 in the top five.

Tyce Smith added a third-place finish on the track in the 200m while Carter Krummen took third in the hammer throw, Cullen Feist took third in the javelin throw, Calder Erick took third in the long jump and Cade Feist took third in the shot put.

The women collected 18 top-10 results, including 11 top-five finishes and two wins on the day.

Esther Mensah provided the lone individual win with a mark of 163' 5" in the hammer throw while Arika Harbo, Karlina Zimmerman, Nyadio Chan and Jaid Perry combined for a time of 4:04.07 in the 4x400m relay for the victory.

Harbo also held the top spot in the 100m hurdles prelims with a time of 14.71, but she did not compete in the finals.

Chidera Osuoha took third in the 100m while Karlina Zimmerman took third in the Karlina Zimmerman in the 400m and Samara Jones took third in the high jump.

The Golden Bears are set for another busy week as they compete at the Gary Wilson Invite on Wednesday and the Drake Relays from Wednesday to Saturday.
