MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. - The Concordia- St. Paul swimming and diving team wrapped up the WildBear invite Saturday night taking a strong second place finish out of seven teams, capturing 22 top-five finishes and breaking eight school records at the Two Rivers Aquatic Center.
Following the conclusion of the WildBear Invite, head coach Rachel Busch stated, "Wow, what an amazing three days of racing and two days of diving. Our coaching staff is incredibly pleased with the results of the WildBear Invite, both with individual results and our second place as a team."
Chloe Rihon broke four school records this weekend including the 200 yard IM and the 400 yard IM. She finished the invite with three top-five placements.
Caitlyn Greenwalt sweeped the diving events to qualify for nationals in the 3-Meter Dive and break a school record with an 11 dive score of 464.20 and a six dive score of 290.65. She has punched her ticket to nationals for the second year in a row.
Farida Maher once again shined in the pool for the Golden Bears, finishing with five top-five placements and her seventh win of the season. Maher also finished the meet with two B Cuts in the 100 yard freestyle and the 200 yard freestyle to put herself on the national list.
Sophie Leo finished with three top-three placements to mark her strongest meet of the season.
The relay of Maher, Leo, Rebecca Hildebrand and Emma Granovsky wrapped up the invite breaking the school record in the 400 yard freestyle relay to continue their dominant run.
The Golden Bears as a team had their strongest meet of the season with everyone tallying their best times and scores of the season and will return to action Dec. 7 for a double-dual with UMary and Northern State in Bismarck, N.D. at the BSC Aquatic and Wellness Center.
