MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. - The Concordia- St. Paul swimming and diving team went 1-1 in a double-dual with the Mustangs of Southwest Minnesota and the Mavericks of Minnesota State in Marshall, Minnesota at the Don Palm Natatorium.
Following the meet, head coach Rachel Busch stated, "We had a very tough week training leading up to this meet, and the team persevered through their tiredness. They were able to see their hard work result in their first dual meet win of the season."
CSP got their first win of the season over SMSU by a score of 183-135. This also marks the first program win over the Mustangs for the Golden Bears.
CSP fell to Minnesota State by a score of 233-84.
Farida Maher highlighted the day and was the lone first-place finisher for the Golden Bears winning the 500 yard freestyle. She also took home a runner-up finish in the 200 yard freestyle along with a third place finish in the 100 yard freestyle.
Concordia finished with nine top three finishes in the meet.
The Golden Bears will have another short break before returning to the pool Nov. 2 to participate in a double-dual with St. Thomas and another chance to face Minnesota State. The meet will take place right here in St. Paul at the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex.
