ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul department of athletics has announced its 2022-23 CSP Female and Male Athletes of the Year with senior track & field athletes
Arika Harbo and
Jakob Tordsen repeating as award winners.
The honor awards the top athletic performers among Concordia's student-athletes with criteria focused on, but not limited to, performance in competition. Nominations for the award were solicited from head coaches of each program and voted on by athletic department head coaches, administrators and support staff.
This is the third year in a row and third time ever that the CSP track & field program has swept the female and male honors in the same year since records were kept of the annual honor dating back to 2006-07.
Harbo is the third two-time selection on the women's side as she joins volleyball's Maggie McNamara (2008-09 & 2009-10) and Riley Hanson (2014-15 & 2016-17) to earn that distinction. Tordsen becomes the first male to earn the honor twice. Harbo joins
Toni Canfall (2020-21) and Wakpor Ighovojah (2017-18) as the three female track & field athletes of the year at CSP. Tordsen is the fifth male track & field athlete to earn the honor, along with Marcus Gustaveson (2020-21), Benjamin Allen (2018-19), Mike Cullen (2014-15) and Nate Thienes (2012-13).

"Arika followed up last year's historic season with another one for the books. Her consistency on the biggest stages is a rare quality to possess and that was on display once again this year. Not all of the goals she set for this year were accomplished, but that will only serve to motivate her as she returns for her final outdoor season next spring."
