MANKATO, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul track and field teams sent their throwers down to Minnesota State on Wednesday afternoon as the group compiled five top-10 finishes at the Maverick Open #1, capped by a
Cullen Feist victory in the javelin throw.
Feist provided the biggest highlight on the day as he cleared 149' 11" to pick up the win by over a foot in the event.
He was one of three men's top-10 finishers as
CJ Picazo and
Dan Otto each registered strong results in the discus. Picazo took sixth with a distance of 159' 9" while Otto's mark of 150' 2" put him in ninth.
On the women's side,
Ella Paaverud collected a pair of fifth-place finishes. She put up a mark of 166' 9" in the hammer throw and a mark of 114' 4" in the javelin.
The Golden Bears are set for one last prep for the NSIC Championships on Saturday as they travel back to Minnesota State for the Maverick Open #2.
