ST. PAUL, Minn. – On Wednesday evening on the campus of the University of Minnesota, the Concordia-St. Paul track and field teams combined for 12 top-10 finishes and seven top-five finishes at the Running on Hope Invitational.
The men's squad tallied eight of the team's 12 top-10 results on the day as
Emmett Faltesek and
CJ Picazo were the top two finishers.
Faltesek wrapped up the 1500m with a time of 3:57.02 while Picazo cleared 163' 3" in the discus to earn both third-place finishes.
Dan Otto followed close behind in the discus as his mark of 157' 10" was good for fifth while
Eben Mundfrom gave the throwers three in the top-five as he took fifth in the hammer with a distance of 191' 6".
Calder Erick and
Ted Carey took seventh and eighth, respectively, in the long jump while
Tarnue David took 10th in the 100m prelims.
On the women's side,
Arika Harbo registered the top individual finish as she took seventh in the javelin with a distance of 110' 4".
Callie Reintsma followed with a ninnth-place finish and a height of 10' 0.5" in the pole vault while
Michaella Hartinger's time of 2:23.38 earned her 10th in the 800m.
Sofia Dodge,
Sydney Jackson,
Destiny Mattingly and
Lauryn Samuel combined for the top result overall for the women, finishing the 4x100m relay in 49.27 seconds to take third.
The Golden Bears continue the busy week at the Holst Invitational on Friday and Saturday as well as at the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational on Saturday.
