MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- The Concordia-St. Paul track and field made a short trip up I-94 to the University of Minnesota to compete in the Gopher Classic at Minnesota Fieldhouse on Saturday.
 
The Golden Bears combined for 18 top-10 finishes at the meet. Thomas Schauerman and Eben Mundfrom each collected NCAA Provisional Qualifying Marks for the Golden Bears.
 
In the men's division, two Golden Bears' collected event championships. Schauerman won the 800m with a time of 1:52.97 that ranks 18th in Divison II, and Ted Carey won the triple jump with a distance of 44' 6.25". Emmett Faltesek also had a strong performance in the 800m with a runner-up finish time of 1:59.29, and Mundfrom collected a top-5 finish after finishing fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 62' 8.5".
 
In the women's division, Ella Paaverud led the way for the Golden Bears with a first-place finish in the high jump with a height of 5' 5". Sydney Jackson competed well with a second-place finish in the 600m with a time of 1:37.44. Callie Reintsma collected a third-place finish in the pole vault with a height of 9' 10.5".
 
The Golden Bears will return to action next weekend with a pair of meets. The Minnesota State Massive in Mankato, Minnesota will take place on Friday and Saturday, and the UWRF Winter Classic in River Falls, Wisconsin will be held on Saturday only. RESULTS
