Harbo, Mundfrom and Schauerman highlight a two meet Friday

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- Concordia-St. Paul track and field's Arika Harbo competed at the USATF Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico while the remainder of the team made the short trip up I-94 to the University of Minnesota for the Phil Lundin Snowshoe Open on Friday.
 
Harbo made history by becoming the first CSP track and field athlete to compete at the USATF Indoor Championships. The senior competed against the best athletes in the United States in the high jump and collected a sixth-place finish with an NCAA Division II Provisional Qualifying Mark height of 5' 10.5".
 
Thomas Schauerman and Eben Mundfrom led the men's division after each collecting NCAA Provisional Qualifying Marks on the afternoon. Schauerman used a time of 1:52.94 to claim the victory in the 800m. Mundfrom's throw of 60' 10.75" in a stacked field was good for a seventh place finish. The men would have 24 Golden Bears finish in the top 10.
 
In the women's division, 15 Golden Bears finished in the top 10. Cece Lewis led the way with a first-place finish in the 400m for the CSP after notching a time of 58.88. Lauryn Samuel used a time of 26.14 to finish runner-up in the 200m, and Ella Paaverud finished third in the high jump with a height of 5' 1.75",
 
The Golden Bears will return to action next Friday-Saturday at the NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Minnesota State. Action is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. from Myers Field House in Mankato, Minn.
