Swim and dive is set to host No. 21 Sioux Falls

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul swimming and diving team returns to the pool this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. to host No. 21 Sioux Falls at Two Rivers Aquatics Center in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. [ Directions ] [ 1897 Delaware Ave, Mendota Heights, MN 55118]
 
"Coming off an incredible Midseason meet, the women are determined to continue working hard as we amp up the volume at practices," commented head coach Rachel Busch. "The meet against USF will showcase some events that were not raced at the Roger Ahlman Invitational, including 50s of the non-free strokes, 100 IM, and 1,000 free. We anticipate more fast swimming against the strong competition of the Cougars."
 
MAHER AND GREENWALT SWEEP NSIC SWIMMING AND DIVING AWARDS
For the first time in school history, the Golden Bears claimed both the NSIC Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week Award on Tuesday morning.
 
Farida Maher added Women's NSIC Swimmer of the Week to her growing list of accomplishments in the Navy and Gold after collecting a trio of first-place finishes that included an NCAA B-cut time in the 200-yard freestyle. With the honor, the junior made history by becoming the first swimmer to earn the award.
 
Caitlyn Greenwalt continues to impress for the Golden Bears after notching her third NSIC Women's Diver of the Week selection of the year. The sophomore tallied a new school record with a score of 418.65 in the three-meter dive, which also ranks 11th in NCAA Division II. Greenwalt has already secured a spot at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships in Geneva, Ohio on March 13-16.

Roger Ahlman Invitational: 1st of 9 | 658 Points
CSP swim and dive made history last weekend with their first invite win in program history at the Roger Ahlman Invite after using a strong showing on the second day of the meet to move from third to first in the team standings.
 
The Golden Bears edged host Macalester College in the team standings by only two points to secure the historic victory with a final team score of 658. St. Kate's also had a strong showing in the pool, as the Wildcats finished with 640 points of their own.

Maher added to her impressive start to the season with a trio of first-place finishes and a second-place finish to lead the team with 77 points. The junior claimed top finishes in the 100, 200 and 500-yard freestyles while adding her first NCAA B-Cut time of 1:53.08 in the 200-yard freestyle.

Sophie Leo had a career-best meet for the Golden Bears to finish with 63 points. The freshman set school records in the 50, 100 and 200-yard backstroke while adding personal-best finishes in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle.
 
Greenwalt was also impressive in the meet after claiming 47 points in the diving competition. The sophomore set a new school record in the three-meter dive with a score of 418.65, which ranks 11th in all of NCAA Division II, and added a second-place finish in the one-meter dive for the Navy and Gold.

ABOUT THE COUGARS
Sioux Falls finished 7-5 last season and was picked to finish fourth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll with 42 points. Four the second-consecutive season, they claimed fourth at the NSIC Championship with 554.5 points.
 
The Cougars are currently 7-2 this season heading into Saturday's dual. USF opened the season with an impressive sweep over No. 16 Augustana and St. Cloud State. Since then, they have collected wins over Southwest Minnesota State, MSU Moorhead and Northern State.
 
Last time out, the Cougars competed at the Augustana Invitational, finishing fifth with 581.5 points. Division I South Dakota won the meet, and they were followed by South Dakota State, Minnesota State and Augustana.
