Golden Bears feature six on CSC Academic All-District Team

Four players repeat as Academic All-District selections

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Concordia-St. Paul football had six student-athletes represented on the 2023 Academic All-District Football Teams as selected by members of College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA).

Of the six, four were repeat selections headlined by junior punter Parker Dahlman who will advance to the 2023 CSC Academic All-America ballot. Also repeating as Academic All-District selections were junior offensive lineman Jac Carver, junior quarterback Conner Cordts, and junior linebacker Brayden Hilgemann. They are joined by first-time recipients, junior wide receiver Drew Enke and sophomore linebacker Richard Wauer.

To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must carry a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore athletically and academically, and be a significant contributor or starter with certain games played and games started thresholds to reach for consideration.

The CSC Academic All-America Teams will be voted on by members of College Sports Communicators and announced in mid-January.
 

#72 Jac Carver (OL, 6-6, 300, Jr., Delano, Minn. / Wayzata HS)
  • 2023 CSC Academic All-District Team
  • 2022 CSC Academic All-District Team
  • Two-time NSIC All-Academic Team
  • Played in 11 games and started 10 games at right guard on the CSP offensive line
  • Graded at 90-plus percent in six of the first nine games
  • Had a season-high 97 percent grade against Augustana in week three
  • Held a 96 percent grade in week four at Minnesota State
  • Helped the team produce 100-plus rushing yards in nine of 11 games
  • Blocked for six 100-yard individual rushing performances
  • CSP rushed for 281, 295, and 214 yards in three victories


#5 Conner Cordts (QB, 6-2, 205, Jr., Peoria, Ariz. / Cactus HS)
  • 2023 CSC Academic All-District Team
  • 2022 CSC Academic All-District Team
  • Two-time NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence
  • Three-time team captain in 2023
  • Named CSP Offensive Player of the Week in season opening win over Upper Iowa
  • Passed for 1,787 yards and nine touchdowns
  • Added 203 rushing yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns
  • Completed 20-36 for 304 yards, three TDs and no INTs at UMD
  • Passed for 245 yards and a pair of TDs against Wayne State
  • Completed 21-30 for 191 yards and two TDs with 5-42 rushing and a TD against UIU
  • Three-year starter at QB with 4,752 passing yards, 27 TDs, 521 rushing yards, 5 TDs and 5,273 yards of total offense in 28 games
  • Ranks sixth in CSP history in career total offense and sixth in career passing yards 


#32 Parker Dahlman (P, 6-6, 235, Jr., Blaine, Minn. / Blaine HS)
  • 2023 CSC Academic All-District Team
  • 2022 CSC Academic All-District Team
  • Two-time NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence
  • Two-time CSP Special Teams Player of the Week against UMary and Sioux Falls
  • Ranked seventh in NCAA Division II and second in the NSIC with a 43.7 punting average, a new CSP single-season record
  • Current CSP career record holder with a 40.7 punt average in 33 games (161-6,545)
  • Ranks fourth in CSP history with 161 punts and 6,545 yards
  • Set CSP single-game record with 54.0 punt average, leading the nation with a 5-punt minimum and third in the nation with a 3-punt minimum against Augustana (5-270)
  • Also had 11 punts of 50-plus yards, 12 inside the 20, eight fair catches and only two touchbacks
  • Long punt of 67 yards is the seventh-longest in CSP history, he also has the third longest (77) during freshman season in 2021 


#11 Drew Enke (WR, 6-3, 207, Jr., Clear Lake, Iowa / Clear Lake HS / Northern Iowa)
  • 2023 CSC Academic All-District Team
  • 2023 NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence
  • Named CSP Offensive Player of the Week against Augustana
  • Has played in all 22 games with 21 starts at wide receiver in two years at CSP
  • Ranked second on the team in catches (28), yards (425) and average (15.2) in 2023
  • In two seasons, has compiled 53 catches for 783 yards, a 14.8 average and a pair of TDs
  • Had a career performance against Augustana with seven catches for 163 yards and a long of 51
  • Has recorded a reception in all 22 games for the Golden Bears 


#4 Brayden Hilgemann (LB, 6-3, 232, Jr., Marshall, Minn. / Marshall HS)
  • 2023 CSC Academic All-District Team
  • 2022 CSC Academic All-District Team
  • Two-time NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence
  • Starting SAM linebacker in all 11 games
  • Tied for third on the team with 44 tackles
  • Added 3.5 TFLs, an interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery
  • Finished the year with a tackle for loss in three straight games, forcing a fumble against NSU and recovering a fumble against WSC
  • Has registered 98 career tackles in 28 games with 6.0 TFLs, 1.5 sacks and a pair of interceptions 


#9 Richard Wauer (LB, 6-1, 225, So., Muskego, Wis. / Muskego HS)
  • 2023 CSC All-Academic Team
  • 2023 NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence
  • Eight-time team captain in 2023
  • Played in 10 games including three starts at WHIP linebacker
  • Registered 35 tackles while playing through injury in the final seven games
  • Compiled 17 tackles in the first three games while a healthy starter including a half TFL and a QB hurry
  • Had seven tackles in the season opening win over Upper Iowa
  • Added six tackles in week two at Winona State
  • Finished the year strong with a seven tackle performance in week 10 at UMD
  • Has compiled 88 tackles, 4.5 TFLs and a fumble recovery in 21 career games at CSP
