Golden Bears fall in closely contested dual against MSUM

Greenwalt and Maher collected wins in all of their individual events

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. - Concordia St. Paul swim and dive team dropped a hard-fought meet, 128-163, to the Minnesota State Moorhead Dragons at Two Rivers Aquatic Center on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Golden Bears will return to the pool locally on Friday, December 1 for the Roger Ahlman Invite hosted by Macalester College at the Leonard Center. 

"Our coaching staff is really proud of our team for their resilience and ability to compete hard," stated head coach Rachel Busch. "Training has been intense and they definitely were not rested for today's meet. Yet they showed up to race and they shined. We had numerous season bests and a handful of lifetime bests were swum today."
 
Caitlyn Greenwalt made history as the first CSP diver to compete at a home meet, adding to her impressive start to the season with a pair of first-place finishes. The sophomore diver won the one-meter with a score of 218. 90 and added another top finish in the three-meter with a score of 210.50.
 
Farida Maher led the swimmers with 27 points. The junior claimed first-place finishes in the 100, 500 and 1650 yard freestyles.
 
The second-best finisher for the swimmers was Charly Horn, who added a pair of first-place finishes in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke. In addition, the junior added a third-place finish in the 100 yard IM.
 
In the 200 yard medley, the team of Zoe Hiers, Charly Horn, Savanna Honan and Emma Granovsky finished second with a time of 1:58.69, while the team of Deanna Ringler, Giulia Cury, Marianna Perna and Caitlyn Greenwalt finished fourth with a time of 2:15.37.
 
The final race of the afternoon was in the 400 yard freestyle relay. The team of Farida Maher, Emma Granovsky, Chloe Rihon and Sophie Leo finished second with a time of 3:44.65, while the team of Sierra Sherry, Giulia Cury, Laura Vekony and Marianna Perna finished fourth with a time of 4:06.44.
