ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul swim and dive squad will conclude the 2022-23 regular season by hosting the Augsburg University Auggies in their second home meet in program history on Saturday at Two Rivers Aquatics Center in Mendota Heights, Minn.
 
The event will take place in Mendota Heights at Two Rivers Aquatic Center and is scheduled for 2 p.m. [ Directions ] [ 1897 Delaware Ave, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 ]
 
Ahead of the dual, Head Coach Rachel Busch stated, "We are grateful to host our second home meet in school history in our beautiful facility." Busch added, "We are excited to continue making history."
 
LAST TIME OUT
CSP swim and dive last competed at the Dragon Invite hosted by the MSU Moorhead Dragons last Friday and Saturday in Moorhead, Minn. and West Fargo, N.D.
 
After session one of the Dragon Invite in Moorhead, the Golden Bears were in fourth place in the team standings with 177 points in front of Jamestown (132) and Minnesota Morris (110). Northern State jumped out to an early advantage with 331 points, followed by UMary (245) and MSU Moorhead (190).
 
After a strong showing in sessions two and three the next day, the Golden Bears would jump MSU Moorhead (598) and finish the meet with a third-place finish and 702 points. Northern State (1065.5) would coast to a first-place finish, and UMary would claim second place (880.5).
 
Farida Maher led the Golden Bears with a pair of first-place and three second-place finishes at the meet. The sophomore would add her first event victory of the meet in the 1650 yard freestyle on Saturday. Later, she would narrowly edge Victoria Murillo of UMary in the 100 yard freestyle by six hundredths of a second. Maher was also the runner-up in the 200, 500 and 1000 yard freestyles. 
 
Charly Horn added a pair of top-3 finishes for CSP in the meet. The sophomore would claim second in the 100 yard breaststroke and third in the 200 yard breaststroke for the Golden Bears.
 
The Golden Bears would have two other swimmers secure top-3 finishes on Saturday. Freshman Chloe Rihon added a third-place finish in the 100 yard individual medley and sophomore Laura Vekony added a third-place finish in the 200 yard butterfly.
 
HISTORY AGAINST THE AUGGIES'
Earlier this season at the St. Catherine Pentathlon (10/15) was the only time this season that the Golden Bears and Auggies have competed against each other. At the meet, the Golden Bears claimed a third-place finish with 148 points while the Auggies rounded out the field with one point. Rihon led the Golden Bears with a fourth-place finish and 65 total points. Sydney Fleming would round out the top 10 for the Golden Bears with a tie for ninth place and 30 total points.
 
This weekend will mark the third time in program history that the Golden Bears will meet the Auggies in a dual setting. Augsburg holds a 2-0 record over CSP in the two previous meetings last season. In their first meeting (11/13) the Auggies narrowly edged the Golden Bears 91-85 at the SMSU Triangular in Marshall, Minn. Horn and Maher would collect first-place finishes at the meet. A month later at St. Catherine Meet (12/11), the Auggies would record their most significant margin of victory in the short series with an 85-71 advantage (12/11). Horn and Maher would again collect first-place finishes in the dual for the Golden Bears.
