ABERDEEN, S.D. - Concordia-St. Paul stayed in Aberdeen for an additional day of competition following Friday's season-opening relay meet against Northern State and Southwest Minnesota State. On Saturday, the Golden Bears faced Northern State in a dual hosted by NSU.

"This weekend was a good taste of our multi-day meets to come this season. Our women gave their 100 percent, which is something we talked about today on the bus - giving 100 percent of what each of us has in the moment," commented head coach Rachel Busch. "We will continue building our base conditioning and fine-tuning our starts, turns, and underwaters."

While the Wolves captured the win head-to-head, Concordia secured its first individual event winner of the 2022-23 season as sophomore Farida Maher won the 500 yard freestyle at 5:31.29, just under a 3-second victory.

Concordia also had a number of second-place finishes as most events featured four or five swimmers. Five different swimmers earned second place swims as the team also added a second place finish among three in the 200 yard medley relay.

The team now sets its sights to the October 15 pentathlon meet at St. Kate's in St. Paul.
