ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul men's and women's golf teams will open the 2022 spring season on March 10-11. The men will be traveling to Henderson, Nevada to compete in the Legacy Invitational hosted by Winona State University. The women's team is traveling to Palm Desert, California to take part in the Augustana Spring Fling hosted by Augustana University.
LAST TIME OUT: MEN
The men concluded the fall season at the Tulsa Cup being the only NSIC team represented in the tournament at Indian Springs in Broken Arrow, Okla. Where they finished in 17th place with 889 strokes (+25).
The Bears played better in the final two rounds, shooting identical rounds of 294 in rounds two and three. That score marked a seven-stroke improvement from their round one score of 301.
Individually,
Taylor Zack was the leader for CSP as he finished in a tie for 48th place with 222 total strokes (+6). The senior shot a 73 (+1) and 75 (+3) in rounds two and three to go along with a 74 (+2) in round one.
Thomas Huettl and
Kurt Lambert were just behind him as each of them finished in a tie for 52nd place with 223 strokes (+7). Huettl jumped 22 places on day two and played his best golf in round three with a 70 (-2) while Lambert had his best round in round two with a 72 (even).
Brandon Sperling was just one stroke behind them, tying for 56th with a tournament total of 224 (+8).
LAST TIME OUT: WOMEN
The fall season ended for the women in Warrensburg, Mo, at the Midwest Classic. The Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team finished in a tie for 11th place with 654 team strokes (+94).
The tournament was held at the par 70, 5618-yard Mules National Golf Club and consisted of 36 holes. Where
Isabella Dory jumped up to the top spot for CSP on the second day moving up three spots to a tie for 37th with a total score of 161 (+21).
Katelyn Baribeau made a massive leap in the second round, jumping 25 spots to a tie for 40th with a new career-low individual round score of 77 (+7) to bring her tournament total to 162 (+22). Individual golfer
Jilli Newman also finished in a tie for 40th with a score of 162 (+22).
FALL SEASON STATS
At the end of the fall season, the men's team averaged 303.60 strokes.
Taylor Zack has the lowest average for the team, averaging 74.23 strokes after 13 rounds of play in the fall.
Thomas Huettl will follow with an average of 75.92 strokes within 13 rounds.
Brandon Sperling shot the lowest round of 69 and averages 76.33 strokes while
Kurt Lambert averaged 77.42 strokes throughout the fall season.
The women have competed in a total of 10 rounds this year and average 321.70 strokes.
Isabella Dory leads the team with an average of 78.20 strokes and has the lowest round of 72. Behind her is Anna Tollete with a 79.30 stroke average, then
Jessica Hagman averaging 82.60.
COMING UP
Following the Warrior Invite in Nevada, the men's team will participate in three more tournaments this spring and will finish with the NSIC Championships on April 14-16. The women will compete in four more tournaments after the Augustana Spring Fling where they will end their season at the NSIC Championships April 22-24.

Taylor Ramirez says, "We are expecting an exciting and busy spring season. We have a full schedule for both the men's and women's teams. The men start this week in Las Vegas with a tournament hosted by Winona state, a full field of teams with great competition. The women start in Palm Springs with a tourney hosted by Augustana, competitive field as well! Then both teams head south the next week with some big regional fields. Having three men seniors and three women seniors, we are anticipating being very competitive this spring. I am eager to get back to competing and looking forward to our tournament schedule!"

WOMEN'S TOURNAMENT
Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, California is a 6,003 yard, par 72 course. CSP will be competing against Augustana, MSU Denver, St. Martin's, Sioux Falls, Grand Valley State and UIndy. The tournament will feature live scoring from the course, and final verified results will be posted in the evening following each round.
