ST. JOSEPH, Mo.  – The MWSU Holiday Inn Express Classic wrapped up on Tuesday with the Concordia-St. Paul men's golf team in seventh place with 895 strokes (+43). The tournament was hosted by Missouri Western State University, at the St. Joseph Country Club.

The Golden Bear's rounds of 297, 296, and 302, combined for the fifth lowest 54-hole team score in school history and just the seventh time ever that the men have posted a three round score under 900. The tournament field was composed of 10 teams, with only Minnesota State and Upper Iowa joining Concordia in representing the NSIC. CSP finished second among the trio, coming in 13 strokes behind fourth place Minnesota State, and 26 strokes ahead of ninth place Upper Iowa. Northeastern State claimed the tournament title with 861 strokes (+9).

Thomas Huettl was the top finisher for the Golden Bears, tying for ninth place for his second top ten finish of the year. The senior posted a three round score of 219 (+6), the second lowest of his career and just five strokes off his career best 214 from his first place finish at the 2021-22 NSIC golf championships. Huettl's final round of 70 (-1), moved him up seventeen spots on the overall leaderboard and helped him finish as the second highest ranking NSIC golfer. 

Hunter Robinson and Brandon Sperling tied for 25th place with 224 strokes (+11). Robinson finished with rounds of 73-73-78, for the second lowest 54-hole score of his career. 

Kurt Lambert finished as the number four golfer for CSP, tying for 36th place with a season low score of 228 (+15). Dayne Mann rounded out the roster for Concordia, cutting three strokes from his second round score to bring his total to 247 (+34) and finishing 58th overall.

Competing as an individual, Ben Rasinski finished tied for 52nd with 237 strokes (+24), breaking his 54-hole personal record by seven strokes.

The Bears will now shift gears as they prep for their final fall competition at the Newman Invite in Wichita, Kan. on October 17 and 18.
