Women's golf claims fifth place at Mustang Invite

Anna Tollette finishes in a tie for sixth to lead the Bears

MARSHALL, Minn.  – The Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team wrapped up play at the EverSpring Inn & Suites Mustang Invite on Sunday and the Golden Bears finished in fifth place with 632 strokes (+56).

CSP competed in a field of 10 teams, including eight from the NSIC. The Bears finished third in the conference ranks in the tournament, trailing only Augustana and Wayne State. Augustana claimed the tournament title, posting a two-round team score of 603 (+27).

Augustana also fielded the individual champion in the tournament with Molly Stevens turning in a Mustang Invite record 142 (-2).

Anna Tollette was CSP's top golfer in the tournament, tying for sixth place and posting a two-round score of 154 (+10). Tollette shaved four strokes off her round one score, shooting a 75 (+3). Isabella Dory finished just one stroke behind her, carding a 155 (+11) to finish in a tie for eighth place.

Erika Olson finished as the third golfer for the Bears, shooting an 80 in round two to bring her tournament total to 162 (+18) and put her in a tie for 28th place. Katelyn Baribeau landed in a tie for 31st place, posting a total score of 163 (+19). Jessica Hagman rounded out the team golfers for Concordia, finishing tied for 39th with 168 strokes (+24). Jilli Newman competed as an individual, tying for 37th with 167 strokes (+23) in the tournament.

The Golden Bears will see their next action at the Central Region Preview on October 10-11 in Hot Springs, Ark. hosted by Henderson State.
