GREENWOOD, Ind. - The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released the 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District® Football Teams and Concordia-St. Paul defensive standouts
Dalton Smerchek and
Shawn Aarhus were named to the First Team.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Volleyball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early July.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
The Division II CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions II Academic All-America® programs.

- Three-time NSIC All-Academic Team,two-time Team of Excellence
- 2019 NSIC Defensive Player of the Week vs Sioux Falls
- 2019 NSIC league leader in fumble recoveries (4)
- 2019 NSIC second in the league in fumbles forced (3)
- Fourth on the 2019 defense with 60 total tackles
- Third on the 2019 defense with 8.5 tackles for loss, adding three sacks
- In 33 career games, has compiled 117 tackles, 10.5 for loss, 3.0 sacks, six fumble recoveries and four forced fumbles
#73 Shawn Aarhus (DL, 6-5, 275, Jr., Benson, Minn. / Benson HS)
- 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team
- Two-time NSIC All-Academic Team including Team of Excellence in 2020
- Ranked third on the 2019 team with 4.0 sacks
- Had 16 tackles, 4.0 sacks and 4.0 tackles for loss while playing in all 11 games
- Has played all 22 games in the 2018 and 2019 seasons, compiling 37 tackles, 6.5 TFL, 5.0 sacks and three fumble recoveries
