ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul men's and women's track and field teams will continue their outdoor season with small groups of athletes competing in two different meets.
Jakob Tordsen and
Arik Johnson will head to the Yellow Jacket Spring Open in Spearfish, S.D. while five CSP throwers will head to Winona, Minn. for the Masked Mayhem Opener.
Both Tordsen and Johnson will compete in the decathlon in South Dakota. The last time each of them competed was at the NSIC Indoor Championships on February 26. Tordsen finished second in the heptathlon with 4751 points while Johnson finished in fifth with 4434 points.
At the Masked Mayhem Opener hosted by Saint Mary's University,
Marcus Gustaveson,
Eben Mundfrom,
Hunter Quinn,
Hannah Gustafson, and
Tia Donlan will all compete in throwing events for CSP.
Last time out for both Gustaveson and Gustafson at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational last weekend, each of them came home with new school records.
Gustaveson finished first in the discus throw and fourth in the shot put in the meet. His throw of 58.52 meters in the discus shattered the school record and is an NCAA DII automatic qualifier, currently landing him first in the nation. His throw of 16.14 in the shot put was also an outdoor season school record.
Gustafson also shined in Myrtle Beach, finishing seventh in the shot put with a mark of 12.45m, sixth in the discus with a mark of 41.28m, and fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.12m. Her performance in the hammer throw shattered the previous school record.
The last time Mundfrom, Quinn, and Donlan competed was back in February at the NSIC Indoor Championships. Mundfrom finished 14
th in the weight throw with a distance of 15.90m while Quinn landed in 13
th with a throw of 15.94m. Donlan also competed in the weight throw, finishing 15
th with a distance of 13.01m.
