Golden Bears finish eighth at NSIC Championships behind All-NSIC performance from Toni Canfall

Canfall wins the 60m and takes fourth in the 200m

MANKATO, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul women's track and field team competed in the NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday in Mankato, Minnesota. The Bears collected 26 points in the meet and finished in eighth place out of 15 teams.

Toni Canfall had an outstanding day in the sprints, winning the 60m and grabbing 10 points while also taking fourth in the 200m and tallying five more points for the Bears. Her All-NSIC time of 7.52 in the 60m and her time of 24.81 in the 200m were also NCAA DII Provisional Qualifying times. Canfall was also part of the 4x400 relay team along with Michaella Hartinger, Sydney Jackson, and Lauryn Samuel that took fifth place and grabbed four more points for CSP.

Lucia Mesfin represented CSP well in the distance events, taking eighth place and grabbing a point for the Bears in the 5000m with a new personal best time of 18:05.59.

Christabelle Mulcahy put together another strong performance in the 60m hurdles, taking sixth place and tallying three points for CSP with a time of 8.95.

In the field events, Sofia Dodge nabbed three points for CSP in the pole vault with a vault of 3.34m, landing her in sixth place.

The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled for March 12 and 13 in Birmingham, Alabama.
