ST. JOSEPH, Mo.  – On a sunny afternoon at the par 71, 6564-yard St. Joseph Country Club, the MWSU Holiday Inn Express Classic wrapped up on Tuesday with the Concordia-St. Paul men's golf team in 11th place with 605 strokes (+37).

The tournament was shortened from 54 holes to 36 holes due to inclement weather on Monday. The Bears shot a 304 (+20) on day two of the tournament, three strokes behind their day one total of 301 (+17). The tournament field was comprised of 16 teams including eight from the NSIC. CSP finished fourth among that group, coming in behind Winona State, Minnesota State, and Minnesota Crookston but ahead of Bemidji State, Upper Iowa, and Augustana. Central Oklahoma claimed the tournament title with 569 strokes (+1).

Taylor Zack remained in the top spot for the Bears, shooting a 72 (+1) in round two and finishing in a tie for seventh with a two-round score of 142 to sit even with par. Zack's score of 70 in round one marked a new season low individual round for the senior.

Kurt Lambert finished as the number two golfer for CSP, tying for 41st place with a total score of 152 (+7). Nick Navarro made significant strides on day two, shaving four strokes off his score and moving up 12 places to finish in a tie for 47th with a tournament total of 154 strokes (+12).  Thomas Huettl was next up for the Bears, landing in a tie for 63rd with a two-round score of 157 (+15). Brandon Sperling rounded out the roster for Concordia, tying for 74th overall after shooting a 79 in round two to bring his total to 160 (+18).

The Bears will now shift gears as they prep for their final fall competition at the Tulsa Cup hosted by Rogers State on October 25 and 26.
