BROOKFIELD, Ill. - The Don Hansen Football Committee has released the 2019
Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America Team, with Concordia-St. Paul junior
Chris Garrett being named All-America First Team for the fourth time this season.
It's the fifth overall All-America honor overall for Garrett, who was the
Don Hansen Super Region 4 Defensive Player of the Year.
The
Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on August 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, Illinois, started and published
Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.
Dan Hansen's Football Gazette began selecting Division II All-Region squads in 2003.
Garrett becomes the program's second
Don Hansen All-America First Team selection, joining
Marcus Haskins who was a 2018 First Team selection when Garrett was named to the Third Team.
