The MSU Invitational moved to Sunday due to incoming weather

CSP will travel to Mankato on January 19th for their third meet of the season

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul men's and women's track and field team will travel to Mankato for the Minnesota State Invitational on Sunday, January 19th. This will be the squad's third meet of the indoor season.
 
MEET INFO
The meet will begin on January 19th with the field events on 2:00 p.m. beginning with the weight throw. Running events will start at 3:30 p.m. with the 5000m then into the qualifying races for the 60m. Minnesota State will be hosting the meet in the Myers Field House. 
 
LAST TIME OUT
Both the men's and women's team last competed close to home at the Minnesota Open hosted by the University of Minnesota. The men's team ended with four top-five marks and 12 top-ten finishes, while the women compiled 19 top-ten finishes and six in the top-five.
 
Benjamin Allen and Brian Szutkowski each earned first place marks for the Golden Bears. Allen was the top runner in the men's 800m, almost breaking his own record with a time of 1:54.84. Szutkowski was also close to breaking CSP's record in the 60m. The senior's time of 6.95 was just .23 seconds away from the school's best mark.
 
For the women, Toni Canfall took first place in the 60m with a time of 7.61, which was just .01 seconds off from the school record she set last season in the event. Her time was an NCAA Provisional Qualifying Mark and ranks her 14th in the nation for DII.
 
Sofia Dodge was a top performer in the field events, setting a personal record in the pole vault to earn her first collegiate win. The freshman cleared 3.35 meters (11 ft) to tie for first place while also qualifying for finals in the 60m and finished sixth (8.23 seconds). In the throws, Hannah Gustafson let the women in shot put with a 41'1.5" throw and finished in sixth place.
 
Kara Lindberg set a personal record in the one mile with a time of 5:28.21 to place fifth. Her time ranks her 12th in the Central Region and third in the NSIC. Also on the track, Cory Warner finished in sixth place in the 800m with a time of 1:59.38. Isabella D'Burke performed well in her first meet as a Golden Bear, placing third in the 600m after running a time of 1:48.86.
 
LAST TIME AT THE MINNESOTA STATE HOSTED-INVITE
Last time CSP competed at the Invitational hosted by Minnesota State, Benjamin Allen took home two wins for CSP in the 1000m and in the Mile Run. He broke his own school record in the 1000m, improving his previous mark by over three seconds and finished in race in 2:29.03. Allen ran the mile in 4:13.05.
 
In the sprints, Brian Szutkowski finished in eighth place in the 60m and Jakob Tordsen posted a top-five finish in the high jumps after clearing a height of 6'2.25".
 
Toni Canfall was the top finisher for the women in the 200m, placing sixth after running the race in 25.68 seconds. Tyra Zinkel finished in seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 35'10.75" and Christabelle Mulcahy placed eighth in the 60m hurdles with a mark of 9.18. In the throws, Hannah Gustafson posted a top-ten finish in the shot put with a mark of 42'1.25".
