OWENSBORO, Ky. – Round one of the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational has concluded after a sunny day at The Pearl Club. Concordia-St. Paul opened play at the tournament hosted by Kentucky Wesleyan with a 302 team score.

The round one score puts them in 18^th place in a competitive pool of 19. The standings are close, and the Golden Bears have a good chance of moving up the ranks in day two of the competition. The leading team is Central Missouri shooting 277, followed by Missouri Western State with 280.

There are 104 individual competitors golfing in the tournament and leading for Concordia is sophomore Thomas Huettl. The sophomore matched his career best with 71 strokes in round one and is tied for 21^st among very strong competitors.

Junior Taylor Zack was also an active contributor for the Bears in round one, shooting 72 and tying for 26^th. Fellow junior, Nick Andersen put up a 76 and tied for 73^rd while sophomore Nick Navarro shot 83.

Sitting in first place is Francois Jacobs, a sophomore from Arkansas Tech, who shot an impressive 64 in his first 18 holes of the tournament.
