INTRIGUING MATCHUP AWAITS BOTH PROGRAMS
Saturday's game features a few interesting contrasts between the two clubs, as each team is averaging over 30 points per game but how they've accomplished their totals have been vastly different. Concordia has turned the ball over just two times this season and has yet to throw an interception. The Golden Bear offense rolls up over 400 yards per game in balanced fashion, rushing for 185-plus and passing for 225-plus including a versatile dual threat quarterback, Ron Johnson, who has four rushing scores, six passing scores and long runs of 31 and 54 yards last week against UMD while also able to make throws on the run or in the pocket. Concordia's opponents have only scored three points on CSP's two turnovers through three games.

NSU DEFENSE GIVES UP YARDS, CREATES & CAPITALIZES ON TURNOVERS
Johnson and the Concordia offense will go up against an NSU defense that thrives on creating turnovers, scoring 27 points off turnovers, a 9-point per game average off of five interceptions, two fumble recoveries, a blocked punt recovery for touchdown and three defensive touchdowns. But the defense has given up big time yardage, with teams averaging over 150 yards on the ground and over 300 through the air for over 450 yards per game suggesting that a win or even tie in the turnover column for Concordia would be a key factor for a road win.

CSP DEF vs NSU OFF: STRENGTHS VS WEAKNESS
Northern State's offense, meanwhile has averaged only 318 yards per game with a solid amount on the ground - nearly 170 yards, but just under 150 yards per game through the air. They'll go up against a Concordia defense that has been hurt by opponent run games, surrendering 200-plus yards per game but the secondary has been stellar in allowing just 175 passing yards. Like Northern State, Concordia's defense has also been adept at capitalizing on turnovers with back-to-back games with a defensive touchdown - both interception returns.

RED ZONE ADVANTAGE
Lastly, Concordia will need to continue its strong execution in the red zone in addition to taking care of the football to pick up the road win. Concordia is 9-for-9 scoring touchdowns in the red zone this season, while limiting opponents to 50 percent execution on converting red trips to touchdowns (7-14). Northern State is converting at a similar rate to what Concordia's defense has held opponents to at seven touchdowns in 13 trips (54%) while allowing opponents to score touchdowns on 11 of 15 visits to the red zone.

SERIES QUICK NOTES
Concordia is 7-6 all-time against Northern State but the Wolves have captured the last two meetings, winning 28-21 at Sea Foam Stadium in 2014 and 24-23 in Aberdeen in 2012. Concordia's last win over Northern State was at home in 2011, a 27-22 victory and their last win at Northern State was in the 2010 Mineral Water Bowl season, a 27-17 triumph at Swisher Field. The 2010-11 wins were part of a string of dominance by Concordia in the series as the Golden Bears went 7-2 against NSU from 2001 in Shannon Currier's second season through the 2011 season, the third year of Sea Foam Stadium.
