ST. PAUL, Minn – The Concordia St. Paul women's track and field team racked up seven individual victories on their way to a team second-place finish at the UW-River Falls Falcon Winter Classic.

Gloria Williams led the way with two first-place finishes for the Golden Bears. She won the 55m with a time of 7.42 and crossed the finish line at 26.61 in the 200m.

Also having success, were long-distance runners, Jordan Gray and Maggie Marcus. Gray won the 800m in her first time competing in the event. It was also the first track and field victory of her collegiate career. Marcus continued her fast start to the season and finished first in her race. She ran the mile with a time of 5:31.45.

Gretchen Feilen also had a good meet. After not competing in three weeks, she was topped the podium in the high jump with a height of 5'00.25 and finished 5th in the pole vault.

Esther Jandrich competed in pole vault as well, and won it. Her height of 11'03.75 was just enough to beat out the second place finisher in a competitive event.

Martina Ware continued her dominant throwing with a win in the shot put and a second-place finish in the weight throw.

On the men's side, Mike Cullen was as dominant as his female counterpart. He won both the shot put and the weight throw. Both winning throwers have their eye on top finishes in conference.

Sam Anderson had a positive showing. He raced the 3000m in 9:21.14 to finish fourth.

Josh Johanson had another constructive meet. The high jumper finished second with a height of 6'06.00.

Several athletes were held out of today's meet for training purposes.

The track and field action was not just taking place in River Falls. Concordia sent three Golden Bears to the Jack Johnson Invite on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

In the pentathlon, Wakpor Ighovojah came just shy of setting the school record in her return to the event. Antony Odera and Colin Goligoski both competed in the heptathlon. Odera finished 19th in his first time ever competing.
