#1 Megan Carlson, Volleyball, Outside Hitter
5-9 | Sr. | Andover, Minn. | Andover HS | Marshall Univ.
Not very many student-athletes have a chance to win one National Title, but Megan Carlson has left her Concordia legacy with three National Championship rings and is a three-time All-American, being named to the NCAA All-Tournament team at nationals all three years as a Golden Bear.

As a senior, Carlson was the NSIC Player of the Year and the Daktronics Central Region Player of the Year as she led the Golden Bears to the program's fifth-straight NCAA Volleyball Championship.

She became one of just three players in a storied volleyball program to reach 1,000 digs and 1,000 kills in a career and led the team as a senior in both areas, with 412 kills and 519 digs. While she could take swings and terminate at the net, Carlson was solid in the back with a 96.3 serve reception percentage defensively as a true all-around player.

Megan CarlsonHer senior year added an academic achievement as she earned NSIC All-Academic honors.

She had 16 double-doubles on the season with at least 10-kills and 10-digs in a match and achieved a 20-20 game, with 21 kills and 23 digs in a win at Augustana (10/25). She also achieved the 30-dig mark to go with 14 kills against Wayne State (10/28).

In the NCAA National Semifinal match against Tampa, Carlson sparkled with 15 kills and 23 digs while committing just three errors in the victory and added 13 kills with just one error in the National Championship win over CSU-San Bernardino.

Carlson concludes her 3-year career as a Golden Bear ranked eighth with 1,143 kills and eighth with 3.32 kills per set. She climbed up to sixth in career digs (1,363) and third in digs per set (3.96). Solid at the net, her 68 solo blocks were sixth most and 189 total blocks ranked 12th in team history. The versatile player also served tough and finished with the 10th-most service aces, getting to 100 for her career.

Overall, her 1,371.5 career points are eighth most in Golden Bear history.
