Almeda joined Concordia's coaching staff in the 2008 season to work with the defensive line.

During his playing career with the Golden Bears, he was a member of the 2003 and 2005 NSIC Championship squads. Although he did not see action on the 2003 team, Almeda was a force in 2005, posting 55 tackles, 7.0 for loss and 4.0 sacks. In his career, he played in 20 games, registering 55 tackles, 9.0 for loss and 5.5 sacks while forcing one fumble.
