Mike LaBore joined the Concordia coaching staff for the 2012 season as a graduate assistant working as a defensive assistant, specifically with inside linebackers.

He joined the Golden Bears after serving as linebackers coach at Hamline University in the 2011 season, assisting in implementing a 4-3 defensive package for the Pipers.

A graduate of Hamline University in the spring of 2011 with a degree in physical education (coaching minor), LaBore played four years for the Pipers on the gridiron, battling through injuries along the way. In his first two seasons, he was a two-way player, earning time as a running back, full back, inside linebacker and outside linebacker.

As a senior, LaBore and the Pipers achieved their best season in over a decade as he earned the team's top honor, the Jerry Smith Award. His junior campaign in 2008 included All-MIAC Second Team honors as an outside linebacker. As a freshman playing full back and outside linebacker, LaBore earend the team's Lead Pipe (Big Hitter) Award before missing the 2006 due to injury.

He scored four career touchdowns including three as a freshman, had 92 rushing yards and 172 receiving yards in those first two seasons before moving to defense full time. He notched a career-high 59 tackles as a junior in 2008 with 6.5 tackles for loss and had a career-high 5.0 sacks as a senior in 2009. In all, LaBore had 151 career tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks.

His coaching career started in 2010 at the Academy of Holy Angels as an assistant strength & conditioning coach and linebackers coach. He also served as co-head coach and defensive coordinator for the B-squad and junior varsity teams.

LaBore will pursue a master's degree in sports management while working with the football coaching staff at Concordia.
