Jon Medlo made the transition from the football sidelines to athletic administration as Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities in the summer of 2025.

He is no stranger to administrative positions, having served as Dean of Students and Head Football Coach while at St. Agnes High School (2002-06), and as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at St. Bernard's High School (2007-09).

Medlo had initially rejoined his alma mater as an assistant football coach during the spring semester of 2016 as offensive line coach, among a number of other key behind the scenes roles with the football program.

A 2000 graduate of Concordia with a major in kinesiology and sport management, Medlo was a two-sport athlete for the Comets prior to CSP making the move to the NCAA Division II level.

Medlo and the facility staff are responsible for set-up and take-down of all home athletic events at Sea Foam Stadium, Gangelhoff Center and the baseball/softball complex. He also assists with the scheduling of athletic practices, facility maintenance and repair, as well as coordinating special events with key clients in the Twin Cities area.

When he joined Concordia's coaching staff in 2016, he had most recently coached the previous three seasons as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator at Hamline University. He also coached the Pipers' linebackers in the 2010 season.

His coaching background includes a diverse array of prep stops, starting his career on the sidelines as the defensive coordinator at St. Agnes High School in St. Paul (2000-01). He was promoted to head football coach and dean of students, serving in that capacity from 2002-06.

Following his time at St. Agnes, he transitioned to St. Bernard's High School starting as defensive coordinator in 2007 before a promotion to head coach and athletic director. In his three seasons at St. Bernard's (2007-09), Medlo helped the program to a 2008 Tri-Metro Conference Championship, its first since 1973 and a 2009 Section 4A Championship for the program's first trip to the MSHSL State Tournament.

After his three years at St. Bernard's, Medlo returned to the college ranks in 2010 working with linebackers at Hamline before a season as defensive coordinator DeLaSalle High School in 2011 and a spot as a defensive line coach at Irondale High School in 2012.

Originally from Columbia Heights, Minnesota, Medlo remains in the north suburbs in the Mounds View community with his wife, Audrey. Their daughter, Morgan, was a member of the Concordia softball team and a 2025 graduate of CSP.
