Caleb Muxlow

Concordia-St. Paul head football coach Joshua Schumacher announced the hiring of Caleb Muxlow as assistant coach to work with the offensive line position group in January of 2026.

"Coach Mux is an outstanding coach. I know he has the heart to lead our offensive line at Concordia into becoming a great unit that sets the tone for this team,” said Coach Schumacher. “Caleb is passionate about building Concordia football and a strong bond among men who love to compete and get after it in the trenches.”

Muxlow comes to Concordia after coaching the offensive line for the previous two seasons (2024, 2025) at West Virginia State University, an NCAA Division II program in the Mountain East Conference.

“I was ecstatic when I got the call from Coach Schu to have the opportunity to come to CSP and coach the offensive line. I believe in Coach Schu’s vision, as well as the vision of CSP,” said Coach Muxlow. “It is going to be a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to get going with the o-line.”

The Yellowjackets produced a 5-6 record in 2025, including a 4-4 record in the MEC, good for fifth in the final standings. In 2024, WVSU was 6-5 overall and 5-4 in the MEC, tied for fourth in the league.

Muxlow helped guide the Yellowjackets offense to a 30.5 point scoring average while ranking third in the MEC with 200.7 rushing yards per game, third in team passing efficiency (146.43) and fourth in the league with 410.5 yards of total offense per contest.

WVSU held a 30:59 average time of possession, a significant advantage per game, while converting 43.9 percent of third downs, scoring 21 touchdowns in 36 trips to the red zone and coming away with points in 29 of 36 red zone visits.

Nationally, WVSU ranked 10th in passing yards per completion (15.28), 20th in fewest turnovers lost (12), 28th in rushing offense (200.7), 32nd in fewest interceptions (7), 36th in fewest tackles for loss allowed (4.55/game), 39th in total offense (410.5), and 43rd in first downs (239).

In 2024, he helped the WVSU score 33.2 points per game and helped the offensive line push opposing defenses around with 195.8 rushing yards per game, second-most in the MEC.

Prior to joining the staff at WVSU in 2024, Muxlow was on the staff at Charleston Southern University (NCAA Division I FCS) for the 2022 and 2023 seasons as a graduate assistant, working with the offensive line as well as the tight ends during his tenure.

His coaching career began where Coach Schumacher most recently departed: Saginaw Valley State in the GLIAC where he worked with the offensive line and tight ends in the fall of 2021, helping the Cardinals to a 7-4 record.

Muxlow was a key cog on the offensive line in Schumacher’s 2021 MSFA Championship squad, as the starting center earned MSFA Offensive Lineman of the Year honors while helping the team to a 6-1 season with the only loss coming at the end of the season in the NAIA playoff national quarterfinals. He was an All-MSFA Mideast First Team selection and an NCCAA All-American in 2020. He was named to the CUAA All-Decade Team (2010s).

He is originally from Brown City, Michigan where he was a multi-sport athlete for the Green Devils, playing tight end in football, competing in the All-Thumb All-Star game in basketball while playing baseball in the spring.
