Concordia Career:
2016: 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team ... named a team captain ... 2016 Myles Brand and NSIC Britton Award winner … appeared in nine games while making seven starts at linebacker for the Golden Bears … tied for second on the team in tackles with 63 (25 solo, 38 assist) … totaled 5.0 tackles for loss, two sacks for 15 yards and three quarterback hits … ranked tied for 13th in the NSIC in sacks … had six games with 8-plus tackles … finished with 12 tackles and one sack against U-Mary (9/3) … recorded a career-high 14 tackles against Minnesota Duluth (9/17) … posted his third triple digit tackle game against Wayne State (10/1) with 10 tackles … closed out his senior year with eight tackles (seven solo), one tackle for loss, and one sack at Winona State (11/12).

2015: NSIC All-Academic Team ... played in and started all 11 games for the Golden Bears ... ranked sixth on the team with 51 tackles (19 solo) ... added 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two pass break ups, three pass deflections and one interception on the season ... had eight games with 4-plus tackles ... made seven tackles (five solo), one tackle for loss and one sack at Minot State (9/19), also added two pass breakups in the game ... recorded nine tackles (three solo) and a half sack at Upper Iowa (10/10) ... made his lone interception on the season against Minnesota State (10/17) and returned it 43 yards ...tallied five tackles (three solo) including 1.5 tackles for loss at Wayne State (10/24) ... notched eight tackles in the home finale against Southwest Minnesota State (11/7) ... concluded the season with six tackles (four solo) at Augustana (11/14). 

2014: ADA Academic Achievement Award ... NSIC All-Academic Team ... played in 10 games, making one tackle in a win over Minnesota Crookston (9/27).

2013: Played in 11 games as a true freshman … recorded eight tackles (six solo) on the season … has a season high three tackles at Upper Iowa (10/12/13) … recorded two solo stops at MSU Moorhead (9/28/13) … had two games with two tackles or more … made a tackles in five of 11 games for the Golden Bears.

Appleton East High School: 
Earned three letters in football for the Patriots ... 2012: Registered 64 tackles in eight games ... added 12 tackles for loss, three sacks, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles, two interceptions, a blocked point after touchdown and a blocked punt returned for touchdown ... helped lead the Patriots to the playoffs for the first time since 2007 ... named All-VFA North Conference First Team ... WFCA All-Region selection ... a four-year Honor Roll student ... also involved in National Honor Society, Spanish NHS and Key Club. 

Personal: 
Born May 10, 1995 ... son of Scott and Julie Johnson ... has a younger brother, Max ... a biology major with a career goal to attend medical school and become a sport medicine physician ... is a Dean's List student, recipient of President's Scholarship and earned the Paul W Stor Chemistry Award ... his uncle, Michael Verstegen, played offensive line for the University of Wisconsin before playing in the NFL for the St. Louis Rams and New Orleans Saints (1990-97) and was a third round NFL Draft choice.
